Guest guest
'Ahhh, I see', said the little muddy ducky swimming in the teeny tiny puddle. What I meant on my own weakened warrior was the fact that spiritual battle I went through left me weakened. What I mean by battle is what I went through with family circumstances that left me with post traumatic stress. But as I read the letter indeed it was Rosemarie who mentioned 'weeken warrior'. I see she meant weekend warrior. Soooo... New Year Resolution number uno: Read stuff twice before executing step number two. How's that? Subject: Re: to Ruth To: fibromyalgiacured Date: Saturday, January 1, 2011, 7:51 PM Â What do you mean that you are a weaken warrior?*** I think Rosemarie wrote this to my comments earlier. I have been very sick but do not consider myself a weakened warrior. I was just thinking of a verse someone pointed out to me recently since I am working on the youth group Bible Bowl. I had been reading something in reference to the verse, " By His stripes, we are healed. " I started praying about claiming that promise. Nothing happened. I kept praying. Then one day a woman at church asked the kids a question in regard to 2 Cor 11:30. talks about him boasting in nothing other than his infirmities. That hit me in the head. I realized that maybe God was allowing this illness so I will not take any credit for the things I am doing. We are setting up some wonderful organizations here in my area to help people, especially youth. WIth my illness, I can do nothing but by relying totally ON God even to get dressed and do even a little bit of work. I have gained acceptance with my illness now. I still pray for healing, IF it is God's will. I have learned to accept and manage myself better. I do not plan so much to do each day. I have gotten deeper into my prayer and devotion studies. So, in my illness, I have become stronger spiritually. Like the old song, 'if you see me on my knees, i am not getting weak, i am getting stronger.' maryruth
Guest guest
Hi ruth: I did mean weekend warrior. By that I mean someone who does very little exercise 5 days a week then on the weekend lays a game of football, then jogs 5 miles then lifts weight and does it again on Sunday. For example. Then mon through Friday of the next week he feels sick and tired and wonders why. Being a weekend warrior can sometimes, not always, do more harm than good. Slow steady exercise is the best way. There are some days the only exercise I can do is walk my dogs 30 min. that¹s been most of this last 2 months actually. But that¹s ok. Anyhow, I hope I cleared that up. Sorry. rosemarie > > > > > > What do you mean that you are a weaken warrior?*** > > I think Rosemarie wrote this to my comments earlier. Guest guest
Rosemarie, Thanks for the clarification. I do agree about your statement in 'weekend warriors' in regard to exercise. When I heard the term, I thought of people who only think of God at church on the weekends but not during their daily lives. <G> Amazing how people can think of different topics with the same words. take care, maryruth
Guest guest
Hi maryruth: Yes, sadly there are so many important things that we do as weekend warriors these days. Church is definitely one of those weekend activities that some feel relieves their conscience from not being in touch with God during the week. I have been guilty of that in the past but not anymore. Fibro actually pushes me in that direction. I ask my husband sometimes I wonder what I would be like if I didn¹t have this. Would I be out partying and living a shallow life? I sometimes see people who are beautiful, naturally thin, very healthy and they never think about God and live what to me (I¹m judging here ) is a shallow life all about clothes, makeup, being seen etc. But then my judgments of others, like this, will not make me any healthier this I know to be true. LOL Its hard to know why our path is our path sometimes. But God knows and that¹s good enough for me. rosemarie > > > > > > Rosemarie, > > Thanks for the clarification.
