Guest guest
Hi Cheryl,  Im a new member to this group, and I just wanted to add that much releif can be acheived from learning accupressure of the ear, hand and feet for pain and other symptoms. In addition get on and staying on  a daily probiotic of at least 50billion per serving, can help also with the bowel problems. Streaching excercises, and yoga, and wqalaking help also. ________________________________ To: fibromyalgiacured Sent: Fri, May 6, 2011 8:05:33 AM Subject: Re: Doctor Referrals  Cheryl  I live in England, and without trying to sould sarcastic, I am being honest here, there is not even one doctor in this country that knows anything about fibromyalgia, and if anybody reading this knows different I would like them, and I am being genuine when I say this, I would like them to tell me who that one doctor is  But listen Cheryl, it does not matter that no doctors here know anything about fibro, because I do. And I know enough to the point where once I could not walk, I could not hold my bowel/bladder etc, and the pain I was in was unimaginable, plus so many other problems it would take me a day to post them  This is not the case now. Now I walk, and am not in pain anything like what i was, I have lost weight, my hormones are great etc etc  I have achieved all this by coming here to this site daily. I come each day for a short period of time and I listen and learn and what the folk here have to offer is worth more than gold and platinum to me  I wish I had more time to stay online but I have to go somewhere in a few minutes  If you cannot find a doctor and you want somebody that can give you a lot of one to one time regarding your fibro, you might want to try this site  http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/  But listen, if you come back here, any help you do recieve from that site will be multiplied.  Every single person that has stayed coming back here has made milestones in their recovery and we all continue to do so  Like I said I must run now but do stick around, this site really is the place to be, if you want to be OK  Love Joanne  Subject: Doctor Referrals To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , fibromyalgiacured , fibromyalgiacured Date: Friday, 6 May, 2011, 8:12  I have been living in Juneau, Alaska, for the past s To: fibromyalgiacured To: fibromyalgiacured even years, and would have continued to live here long into retirement if it were not for multiple medical issues. This is a beautiful area, but very isolated and accessible only by boat and air. The medical care that exists is quite good in many respects. However, anything beyond a family practice or orthopedist, requires a 1000 mile trip (or more) down to Seattle or up to Anchorage. It is seriously draining, exhausting, and terribly difficult for my body to endure the trip itself, which only happens after an extended battle to persuade the hierarchy that I require the care of a specialist. That said -- the reservations are made!! We board the ferry to Bellingham June 29th!! We are returning to the lower 48, but my husband will go no further than Bellingham, b/c he is absolutely convinced that he is coming back to visit!!!! We will see what happens. (He has not left SE Alaska since we arrived SEVEN years ago!!!) Has anyone found a good specialty center for fibro and fatigue in Washington or Oregon? When we first moved to Alaska, there was only one grandchild -- there are now ten, so I am so excited to be going back that I can hardly contain myself. I am also so very excited to begin to check out all the alternative care possibilities, therapies that work that no one in Juneau's medical community has even heard of, and specialists that everyone else probably takes for granted!!!!! My quality of life has sunk so low that I am determined to use our arrival in Whatcom County/Bellingham area -- and all the way to Seattle or wherever I have to go -- to make some very powerful and positive changes. I know that there are people on the various online support groups I belong to that can help!! I am looking for recommendations for doctors/specialists and any wonderful treatments that have worked for all of you!! It is finally time to ask and I am so excited to hear from all of you!!! I have new found hope and trust in my fellow onliners to start pointing me in the correct direction!! I am on a couple of lists for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue so that I can stay informed and read a diversity of thoughts and experiences. Or perhaps you just want to wish us well and contribute to my latest challenge. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Cheryl (AK)
