a challenge and (thankfully) a triumph :)

It's the middle of the work day - my first day of this juice/broth cleanse.

When I came in this morning I saw that someone had brought in donuts! (I

like donuts). It was our auditors who are here for the week - they thought

they would do something nice, I guess. Anyway, the area where the food is

generally left (snacks like this) is just about 5 feet away from my office.

So people were congregating there off and on all morning. It wasn't just

donuts, however. It was someone's birthday, so another employee brought in

bagels (a tradition here) AND there was a jar of M & M's AND there were

cookies. I'm not sure where it all came from or why it was there, but that's

irrelevant anyway. :)

I like donuts. I like bagels. I like M & Ms. I got out my juice

(carrot/beet/radish/apple) and focused on how good it felt to know that I was

cleansing rather than clogging! :) Someone came over and said " -

have a bagel or something. " I just politely said no thank you and she said

" You are SO good - I wish I could be that good. " and went back to get more

munchies. Since my desk is so close, people often will make comments to me

about whatever is there. So it isn't really possible to have it " out of

sight, out of mind " . I was starting to get a little tired of hearing

everyone say how YUMMY everything was. So again I just tried to focus on my

work and tried to be grateful for an opportunity to do some cleansing. Then

one of the guys said (after moaning with pleasure at the taste of a donut,

lol) " This will go great with the heartburn I already have. "

Not that I was really struggling with not eating this stuff, because

amazingly enough it wasn't too much of a temptation, but after hearing his

comment I really just focused on a visualization of the internal cleansing

that is taking place and I really, truly felt a sense of gratitude.

So...it was a challenge, but I also feel like it was a triumph. I wanted to

share it with you all. :)

have a great day!
