amitriptylene and hives/need advice

I've been on ami.. for 6 mos (20 mg) to control my fm. however, in the last

couple of months i've developed a red rash on my thighs, that is turning into

hives. a couple of weeks ago it got so hot outside that i could feel hives

developing all over my body, until i cooled off. once i lowered my body temp,

they went away without really taking hold. My rheumatologist is not familiar

with this reaction, and has ignored it.

I'm afraid if I go off of the ami., all my pain will return.

any advice?
