It's interesting that you would share this, Michele. After my brief juice

fast when I started having solid food again I've found that I'm " craving "

salads. AND - a salad just isn't complete, lately, without beets. Isn't

that interesting? I've liked beets before, but now it's like something

inside me has been telling me to have some every day. Now I know why! I

knew they were good for the liver, but I never knew this about thinning the

bile.

Thanks so much for sharing that!

Hi Barry,

I've just come across a couple of sites that mention products which you can

buy for thinning the bile. One says " whole beets are an excellent way to

thin the bile and limit the risk of gall stones. Whole beets will thin bile

the way paint thinner thins paint. It is quite consistent. There are some

supplements on the market that do this. We use two from Biotics Research.

Beta TCP for patients who still have their gallbladder. It also has taurine,

which is also useful for thinning bile. We also use a product that is 100%

pure organic whole beet concentrate, which works quite nicely. For those

patients without a gallbladder we use Beta Plus.

The product is sold con this site:

http://www.naturmedicine.com/vitamina2.html $13.00 for 90 tablets

Has anyone else used this?

Michele

Thanks Michele,

Coptis to increase flow, Lecithin to break up fat intake, but what

about thinning the bile itself? Anything for that?

Barry.

My pleasure - all tips can either be discarded or taken up - thats what is

so fantastic about this forum. I'de never of found out about all sorts of

products and proceedures without others suggesting them! Weird about the

craving for beetroot! Apparently the leaves and stalks have 3 times as much

goodness in than the beetroot itself - but I have failed to find any for

sale like this as of yet. (UK pulls through again - not!) What a fantastic

craving to have - could have been chocolate or chips so thats brilliant!

(make the most of it whilst it lasts!!!!)

Many thanks,

Michele

Beets aren't hard to grow. Some good organic soil and water, the right time

of year for temperature, and they do the rest.

Yep...they are very easy to grow...and there is nothing quite like the taste

of freshly boiled beets...straight from the garden. Be warned...for those

who haven't eaten large quantities, though. I am a bit of a beet addict and

have, on numerous occasions, had very red wee! Just so you know...the first

time it happens can be a bit scary until you realise why...LOL!
