Guest guest
My brother lives in Colorado and he got a medical cannabis prescription card for his IBS. He got the card and was directed to another level of the building where they had types of marajuana. You illegal to buy or sell but you can possess and grow small quantities (under 1 oz.) for medical use at home only. I know its the same in California. Thats about all I know about that issue. I wish they would legalize it for medical use everywhere. I wouldn't use it but have a couple of friends w/MS and cancer that it would really help. Caitlin Bumping for responses. Anyone??? This is an issue that has to be addressed with caution when typing to a group. If someone wants to post on this subject, please do NOT send in any posts discussing any ILLEGAL use of the substance. This group is not as private as we sometimes like to think it is. -- Lyndi Moderator
Guest guest
<illegal to buy or sell but you can possess and grow small quantities (under 1 oz.) for medical use at home only. I know its the same in California.> It is not the same in California. It is legal under prop 215 for a patient who either has a card or a prescription, to buy MMJ from a club or from a caretaker who grows their medicine OR you are allowed to grow 6 plants yourself. It's about 5 or 6 plants allowed per patient, so caregivers can grow a lot more if they have more than one patient who needs the medicine. Also, at a lot of the clubs depending on rules of the city, you can smoke at the club. For example, the City of Berkeley here in the bay area, has been listed as a Permanent Medical Marijuana City, meaning if all of the other cities' clubs go out of business due to drug raids or high rent, Berkeley will always have it available for whoever needs it. So I prefer to go to my Berkeley club compared to my Oakland club, where I cannot smoke at the club and I'm forced to take the medicine off the property and go smoke it someplace else, which is a pain. It's so nice to be able to go to the club for a few hours, buy my medicine, go sit in the lounge, use their vaporizors or water bongs, eat some fruit & hot tea, and watch a movie and talk to other nice people. That is one of the big advantages of the clubs. And as a MMJ patient with a legal prescription, which weighs much more in value than the card does, because if you get caught by the feds and go to court, the doctor who you saw to get that card, which also cost you over $100, will not come and defend you in court, as my doctor, who I see every 2-3 months and provides not only my MMJ script but also my disability and whatever else I need or want to try. You have rights with a prescription and you cannot have your medicine taken away from you or in most cases, if you have all the legal paperwork, you will get your medicine back. Each state has their own rules and regulations when it comes to MMJ. Whitney Alameda, CA Eat, sleep, dream and be the music! Life is short, live each day to its' fullest!
