Barry,

I have great luck taking lecithin with meals because since it is an

emulsifier, it breaks up the fat molecules so that they are very small, and

more digestible. If you cheat a little and eat more fat than you should, take

more lecithin at that meal. You will immediately see a big difference in how

you feel -- within 10-15 minutes that bloated undigestible-fat feeling goes

away. I take 1200 mg capsules (2-4 at a time, depending on how much fat I've

eaten), but the powder is supposed to be better because you can more easily

keep track of if it goes rancid, than by taking capsules.

Someone I am acquainted with uses lecithin gelcaps

to a gallbladder cleanse (again, I'm new here, so sorry

if I'm repeating things you guys already have posted in

the past). Increasing the amount daily until taking (I

forget how many? can find out) then decreasing again. I

take them with meals, too, and also take fat absorbing

product that contains some lecithin before meals that contain

fat...this helps me a lot now as I wait for a good

time to flush my gallbladder.

Barry, I've started using the granules. And take 2 TBS in yogurt, smoothie, on

my cereal...etc. I think it tastes good. of Dewberry Hill

Barry asks: I have a question for anyone using Lecithin as a supplement to

thin/equalize bile.

What mg in pill form is good to take? How many times a day? Morning?

With food?

If it is powder form. How much? 1 teaspoon in the morning?

Thanks Pat,

So, roughly 2,000 to 4,000 mgs depending on how much fat you eat?

I would think the pill form would prevent it from going rancid

because it is air tight more or less. I'm checking into it all now.

I want to emulsify the fats I eat but how about thinning the bile

that I make? Does Lecithin thin bile as well, or only process the fat

that you eat for that meal? The reason I want to thin the bile is

because when it gets more creamy or thicker is when my gb contracts

causing the colic.

Thanks.

Barry.

Thanks ,

2 tbspns with cereal is something I could easily do. One question for

you. Does the lecithin only breakdown the fat you are taking for that

particular meal or does it help to overall thin the bile in your

liver/gb?

Barry sent the following text in Digest Number 979:

This seems to be an awfully large amount of lecithin to take.

The pills with which I am familiar are 250 milligrams.

Pat, how did you decide on that dosage?

Barry,

As far as I know, lecithin is just an emulsifier, which means that it

breaks down fat molecules, but does not remove them. You still need bile to

actually digest the fat, but it is easier to digest broken down. Unless bile

is fat-based, and I don't know if it is - I don't think the lecithin will

emulsify it or make it thinner.

And by the way, GNC sells " triple lecithins " capsules that are 1200

mgs each. They are easier to take than a lot of smaller dose capsules.

And Chang has some herbs on her web site that are supposed to

help the bile flow through your liver.

Ira,

By reading and trial and error (Atkin's Vita Nutrient Solutions &

Cabot's " Liver Cleansing Diet " ). The capsules that I buy are " triple

lecithin " 1200 mg capsules from GNC. I know I should derease the amount of

fat in my meals, and I am usually pretty good, and just take 2400 mg twice a

day. But if I over-indulge and " feel it " , an extra 2400-4800 mg (2 - 4

capsules) gives relief within 10-15 minutes. I'm not kidding. Try it! I've

been on vacation with my mom and have saved her a miserable night after

eating corned beef by using the lecithin.

Hi Barry,

I've been using Coptis, which apparently helps to increase bile flow (

Chang, Prime Health Products). I've also been using powdered Lecithin too

(recommended 1 teaspoon with meal, 3 times a day).

Hope this helps,

Michele

Thanks Pat,

What, besides herbs, can be taken naturally that will thin the bile?

Does anyone know?

Thanks Michele,

Coptis to increase flow, Lecithin to break up fat intake, but what

about thinning the bile itself? Anything for that?

Hi Barry,

Still trying to find a product to do this - all I've come across is the good

old beetroot suggestion! Basically, this is for thinning and moving the bile

(colonic hydrotherapist also suggested the same). The link below is for a

recipe that you might be able to incorporate into your daily routine:

http://gallbladderattack.com/beetrecipe.html

Anyone else found another bile thinner? Also, been looking into Chanca

Piedra and looks as though this is very helpful, specifically for kidney

stones and liver 'function' - does this include the breakdown of gallstones

or not?

Many thanks,

Michele

Sorry for the delay, I am well behind with my emails. GE or GM foods

genetically engineered, genetically modified, which way you want to put it

not good - they are also owned by a drug company!!
