Guest guest
Dear Anne Please don't get discouraged! I know it's frustrating when you aren't seeing the results that you're reading about from others, but as you said, we aren't " peas in a pod " and each body is different and responds differently. First, I think that just because you didn't see stones doesn't mean that the flush wasn't successful. We have no way of knowing what actually has transpired inside as a result of these cleanses. It's possible that the stones were firmly lodged and the flush has loosened them and the next one will get some out. It's possible that the flush got out some chaff/sand/sludge (did you see any of that?) and that in itself is a great success because those things could turn into stones later on and it's good to get them out. It's possible that the flush served to decrease the size of the stones, too, isn't it? So please don't lose heart just because you didn't get the visible results. To answer your question - I am one who drinks the oil/juice mixture at 15 minute intervals and have had success with doing it that way and much prefer doing it that way. Just a note - I have also increased the amount of juice with this last cleanse. I used 3/4 cup olive oil, 3/4 cup grapefruit juice and about 1/4 cup lemon juice. It made the mixture much easier to get down. Have you tried adding a drop of peppermint oil to the mix? It could help you keep it down also. I tried that once and it did seem to make it a little more palatable. One last suggestion I might offer is to use visualization - even well before you do the cleanse. Right now you're understandable repulsed by the idea and it would be helpful to get a more positive image in your mind about the whole process. I do this sometimes when the mere thought of drinking the oil makes me gag! This might sound goofy to some, but I think you'll understand. I have done things as I drink the oil, too, like rather than thinking of the oil/juice going down my throat, I think of the stones coming out. It's a much more positive image. It's true that the brain responds to the messages we send it, and if we think " I'm going to throw up when I drink this " , then the brain is likely to respond accordingly and send the signal to the stomach to reject what is coming down. So the reverse is true that if we get the positive image in our minds (whatever works) then the brain communicates to the stomach to keep it down. Even if no visual image comes to your mind to use, just repeating a positive phrase like " this is for my health, my body will accept this.... " or something like that, is likely to help you keep the mixture down. Well, this has gotten lengthy, but I just wanted to write a note to try to encourage you. I know it's frustrating when people are writing about results and you're not getting the same, but if you definitely know that you have stones, you will find what procedure works best for you to get them out. in health, In a message dated 1/20/02 3:42:55 AM Eastern Standard Time, vanadeux@... writes: > Has anyone done the method where you consume the amount of the total drink > slowly every 15 mins over one hour or more.
