Guest guest
Hi Joanne Thank you for sharing your family history - It would be interesting to know other family history as well. My dad thinks everything health illness that I have is from my moms side of the family. I was sick as a child with strep throat and bad allergies. Then when I was 19 I became very iron poor and the doctors even thought I had cancer. They never figured out what was wrong with me and it took three years for me to feel better. I also started to get migraines at the age of 22. I always had bad periods and after a surgery to remove a growth on my left ovary in my late 30's showed I endo- I had a golf ball shaped gall stone in my mid 30s and had my gall bladder removed. I had lots of stomach issues after my gallbladder removed which years later they found c-diff bacteria. I went to a homepathic doctor after and she found I had lots of food sensitivities she thought were due to my eating habits of eating the same foods all the time...like squash. I take probotics and stay away from those foods. I have early bone loss as well and fractured my left foot three times (in a row) I walked around with the first time for a month before going to the doctor. I also became deadly allergic to shellfish at 36. My half sister was diagnosed with Fibro in her early 20's she is now 28 and then I was diagnosed. I was always active in sports and wondered why I felt like I had the flu if I did any big activity. We think our mom has had it but when she went to the doctors they said no but her sister has it as well. They both have IBS. My aunt had a rare skin cancer in her 20's and had to have a portion of her muscle removed. My uncle on my dads side was diagnosed last year with fibro. Then this year at 42 I had the stroke from the blood clots and I am shocked at all the foods/herbs that I was eating prior to the stroke that are blood thinners. I am so glad that I am taking Pradaxa as a blood thinner since the cumadin was making me feel so sick to my stomach. My grandmother on my mothers side was on it since she 55 when she had a massive heart attack and she was often not feeling well I believe due to the blood thinner. She died last year at 80 from two heart attacks. All my grandparents died of heart attacks except my dads mom who had pancreatic cancer which spread very quickly. My husband and I a few years ago did a dna test from 23andme.com to see what dna markers we had and it was informative Ciao- Ange  ________________________________ To: fibromyalgiacured Sent: Fri, August 5, 2011 3:18:13 PM Subject: My family tree (LOL)  I saw my parents again today and asked them to tell me more regarding the cancer my great uncle had. They told me that he had ulcers for years, they assume it was stomach ulcers but that he also complained that he had a perminent pain arounf the ileoceal area, my mom pointed to it. she said he used to always have his hand perched there and would say, my ulcers give me a pain here Anyway, as the years went by and the new ideas about ulcers came about my uncle took the new medicines. the one my mother described sounded like ant-acids but it is likely he also took the antibiotics, but given the information so far i now cannot be 100% certain. i have a cousin who might be able to tell me more Anyway, he did die of cancer and if what they told me today is correct it was not stomach cancer but bowel cancer. I am going to see if there is any more i can find out regading all this Anyway, this uncles brother had parkinsons and the sister, my gran dies young with TB. I have read somewhere that people that carry one of the genes for parkinsons are more susceptable to TB. When i last spoke the the gastoenterologist she said my symptoms sounded like they could be TB of the colon, but you know what i am taking all this with a pinch of salt. It amazes me how now I am 44 years old all this info is coming towards me. As you know my dad has parkinsons and my great-gran had it. My aunt has IBs and her daughter has fibro My mom told me today that my dads brother also says he has bad gut problems, but nothing really much to go on there, except his wife has parkinsons and his sons wife has Crohns. I said thats odd, and my mom said you know how it is in this family the women must eat as the men say LOL. You know something there are times when my mother is spot on LOL Anyway, i will let you know if there are any more developments regarding all this, boy oh boy, boy oh boy oh boy Love joanne
