Guest guest
I'm about to face the same thing, getting a service dog puppy. I'll be doing the training myself so looking for a young dog. Have you considered crate training? It makes it possible for the dog to spend the night safely at a younger age than will work if it's loose in the house. I'm not saying you can stuff it in there the first night, but you gradually work up to longer periods and the dog learns to work with your rhythms and sleep when you do. It's well worth the couple of weeks to teach one so that you can control their sleep cycles.
