Guest guest
Hey all!!!! I have been talking to my sister in law about the supplements and the diet. She could easily do this for she has more will power than anyone I know. But, her condition is pretty serious. Three years ago she had brain surgery for AVM, which is lesions on the brain. She came out without any disabilities from this. She still has migraines everyday and her doctor does nothing to help with this except meds like topomax, which makes her sicker. Do any of you think she could be healed quicker if she were to do what we do? I will forward any responses to her so she can have hope. It is very sad and hard to watch her suffer to this extent. Thank you ladies and good night. Carol B.
Guest guest
Hello Carol B Your poor sister in law. From my experience on Topomax which made me feel more of a fogged brain and I was not making any progress from my stroke I asked to be taken off of it and then I was put on 300mg 4pills of gabapentin a day. It has helped my stroke headpain and I take it at night so I can sleep. Then after a few months they wanted to put me back on Topomax but I refused. They added another drug which I took only for one day and felt worse. My migraines since the stroke are worse and they last for 4 to5 days bad and then it takes me another week or more to feel like my brain is working. My last migraine I took 2to 3 pills of magnesium citrate a day that seems to help and since I take two pills every day with dinner. She should try to see if she can switch to a different med like gabapentin and take magnesium citrate every day. Also she needs to find out if her migraines are triggered by certain food. Also lack of sleep and stress. I found that mushrooms were a trigger for me I already knew Wine, Chocolate and cheese This book help me figure out my triggers  Living Well with Migraine Disease and Headaches: What Your Doctor Doesn't Tell You...That You Need to Know (Living Well ()) [Paperback] Also before my stroke I was taking an anti inflammatory called celebrex which seemed to keep my migraines less frequent but she may not be able to take them, I can not currently because I am on blood thinners for my blood clots that are still in my brain. Also fresh air helps me and sometimes drinking a cola kept it from coming fully on. I was also taking Imitrex which is migraine medication which I can not take now before of the blood clots.  Did she have migraines before surgery? How old is she?    Ciao- Ange  ________________________________ To: " fibromyalgiacured " <fibromyalgiacured > Sent: Mon, August 29, 2011 7:41:53 PM Subject: Huge question about AVM, brain lesions  Hey all!!!! Guest guest
Thank you , Yes she had the migraines before the surgery. I am thinking she is 46. I remember she had tried the Imitrex before too and how bad these drugs made her feel. If she could afford it more often, and this is costly, she will go to her doctor to get shots for these migraines. She has had to go to emergency health clinics to get these when the doctor office is closed. On top of all this she works full time. I just couldn't imagine anyone waking up in the morning and can already tell a migraine is on it's way. Thank you again!!!! Guest guest
Hi Carol. since my sister has migraines sometimes, I talk to her about the ketogenic diet helping migraines as well as seisures. If you look up the symptoms of both, they are very similar with the aura, and the off electrical impulses in the brain with both conditions. With some people just being on the diet a few months, they no longer have the migraines at all. The high fat, and low carb calms down the brain impulses. There has been some links on here about migraines and ketogenic diets, or you can google them. My sister does not get them very often now. she is not in ketosis, but has been more careful, and has a better idea of what to avoid. Guest guest
hey and thank you for replying. She is pretty excited to hear such great things from you ladies. I am hoping that now she will listen since this isn't coming from just me. She has witnessed the transformation I have done and I'm not even doing everything quite right yet. I like seeing her with the light in her eyes of hope. Thank you again !!!! ________________________________ To: fibromyalgiacured Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2011 10:03 PM Subject: Re: Huge question about AVM, brain lesions  Hi Carol. since my sister has migraines sometimes, I talk to her about the ketogenic diet helping migraines as well as seisures.
