Hi Lorrie - I'm curious as to your general location - I know a lot of folks

here are either in the UK or US. Doctors are generally not educated about Lyme

disease so people have to go to Lyme-knowledgeable docs - we call them LLMDs -

Lyme-literate medical doctors. Low income folks can get a pretty good discount

for Lyme testing at the best lab I know about.

Now just thinking here - oral clindamycin, which is an antibiotic, took my

fibromyalgia pain down to just about zero in a week's time. I did 150mg every

six hours for the first week, and no pain! Then dropped back to 1-2x/day. Then I

tried to find as many of the people I'd known in the fibro groups I'd gone to

through the years, and the ones I reached knew by then, thanks to the computer

mostly, that they had Lyme and some had co-infections too (babesia, bartonella,

erhlichia), which we can also get from a tick bite). So another possibility

could be to try an antibiotic for Lyme and see if it helps. A lot of people take

oral doxycycline for it.

Lyme can be a real sneaky illness - acquired through a tick bite we didn't see,

or from another insect bite, or even from us. It causes symptoms from head to

toe and gets misdiagnosed as 350 other conditions. You can read about it more at

www.lymenet.org, and use the archives there. Anyone can post there as well, and

experienced patients respond fairly quickly, including with doctor referrals. I

also recommend downloading the Lyme film " Under Our Skin " from Netflix and I

believe other sites offer it too - it's an eye-opener. - Robin
