I think this would be a wonderful idea -- like the 100 Club in Houston for

police officers. In addition to extra $ on fees, the fund could be

advertised and public donations could be requested at the time of need.

My families condolences to the Browns on their loss. It always hurts to lose

one of our heroes. I don't need to know them personally, because I know

their good work.

question...

with all of the recent injuries and such, do we have a state ems fund to

help families out in time of need? If not, then what is everyone's opinion

on this? what are options that we can do?

i.e... tag a few dollars on to certification and re-certification fees and

call everyone a member of Texas ems association. and have to funds give in

time of injury, death and such.

I know that there would have to be strict guidelines and such but...it would

be a start..

what are you ideas..?

and has anyone started something similar to this?

I believe that if an EMT-X (insert your level here) dies in the LINE OF DUTY, that certain state benefits kick in, such as tuition-free education at state colleges and universities, etc. Anyone know more about it, or do I need to to the research and post back?
