Hi Dottie,

Here is the Blood Glucose Goals from the magazine " Daily Care, the magazine

for Diabetes " . Some people use these goals for themselves, others do not.

It is each person's choice. I like for my after meal numbers to be no higher

than 140. Most of the time my after meal numbers are around 100-120. Once in

a while they are higher than 140, but I don't worry about it. (Worrying

will only cause stress, which will cause numbers to go up.)

My educator did not give me the numbers for 1 hr after a meal. I always test

2 hrs after a meal. I only do the fasting maybe once a week because it is

always below 100.

Time Goal

Pre-meal 80-120 mg/dl

1 hr after meal 160-180 mg/dl

2 hrs after meal 140-160 mg/dl

Bedtime 100-140 mg

HbA1c <7%
