Guest guest
My 4th Granddaughter is due in march, all of them sisters, with the oldest one just 8. Every thing I do for them I have to do 3 times over. I just hope I make it long enough to see all of them together. All of them are sort of outdoors types. They love to fish, I bought them all a 22 rifle that fits them and nice bows. The oldest will go with me to a tree stand a half of a day and be quiet and not move around. She shot her first deer this year. And I lost my 4 wheeler to them so I need to buy me another. So you can guess the way I am and the way they are, They are spoiled rotten. On my limited income it's hard to do, but most of the time what they want they get. The two oldest have fishing gear a Pro would be jealous of. I just hope I get to spend a lot of time with them. Time is running out on me. I have some ports with some large tubes so now now they tell every one they have a robot for a grand dad. ron pattrson ronpat0471@yahoo,com
Guest guest
Ron, that's so sad that you feel that time is running out. I hope you're wrong about that. I grew up extremely poor, so I know what you mean about feeling like you can't provide things. But honestly, truly honestly, all they want is time with their granddad. I find that if I go to the thrift store I can usually get wood-working projects for practically nothing, and my kids and I do the projects on the weekends. I may not be able to push them on the swing 75 times in a row, but I can sit in the dirt and dig for worms without too much pain (just have to be careful how I twist). Robot for a granddad is great. They're learning that who the person is will always be more important than what they appear to be. It's a great gift that you're giving them. Hang in there, and enjoy them. I love tom-boys! I have the girliest-girl in existance (lord only knows where THAT came from, 'cause it sure wasn't me), but she's mean with a fishing pole and can practically build a veggie-oil conversion kit by herself. And my son? He can do everything she does (despite being younger), and will do it while screaming that he needs the princess dress, too! LOL I give him the dress, but my dad insists that I'm " turning him gay " . My dad's too old to change, unfortunately, but I love that my son can enjoy everything as much as my daughter.
