Guest guest
Kathy, Glad it wasn't too bad and that the news was good. That chemo does wreck our stomachs, it gave me gallstones and I am on nexium. Good luck on eating healthy and getting rid of those ulcers! Guest guest
I have been wondering about gall bladder problems being connected with chemo. I have been having some trouble - nothing that I need to go see a doctor yet - but like a bulging feeling on the right side of my abdomen - right under my ribs. And there is, at times, pain involved. but usually it just feels like something is enlarged there and is popping out from under my ribs. Anoth complaint I've had is lower back pain. I recently had a bone scan and everything was okay - but I still have this pain. Doctor told me to take ibuprophen every day - but also warned me that it will cause ulcers! Is there no winning??? ~Dawn~ On Fri, 26 Apr 2002 10:43:22 -0700 (PDT) cheryl fontenot writes: > > it gave me acid reflux and gallbladder problem they finally remove > the gallbladder 2 yrs ago > so glad report was good girl > well talk later > love love > angel hugs^j^j^j^j^ > JESUS LOVES YOU > CHERYL ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Your medical complaints seem to be common among many of us here. I too have the same symptoms of pain on the right side just under the rib - scans showed nothing. Pain in my lower back and bone scan showed arthritis - which wasn't there before chemo. (And now I have added the pain of recovery from breast reconstrucstion - guess i like to torture myself - LOL I don't think that I would have changed my decision to have the chemo because of the possiblity of these complications but I sure do wish I could find a doctor that would come out and say - YES< CHEMO DOES CAUSE THESE PROBLEMS. Good luck and hope you feel better soon. Hugs, Lori -- In breastcancer2@y..., Dawn C <dawn_sanchez99@j...> wrote: > I have been wondering about gall bladder problems being connected with > chemo. Guest guest
wish I > could find a doctor that would come out and say - YES< CHEMO DOES > CAUSE THESE PROBLEMS. > My onc, Dr. Raymong Heung, warned me of the side effects of chemo. He mentioned gallbladder problems, memory loss, weight gain, high blood pressure, and heart problems. My blood pressure, two years after completeling chemo, has finally returned to normal (with clondine). I have gained weight. And my feet are swollen. But I believe the alternative, no chemo, placed me at too high a risk of reoccurance. I too had a lumpectomy, margins unclear, and so had a mod. radical mastectomy. I was scheduled for reconstruction but cancelled it. the plastic surgeon wanted to use implants and I do not want implants. She said that a tran flap was unsuitable for me so I remain a unicorn. Thats ok. I like and collect unicorns. LOL I decided rather than stay on my pitypot that I would do what I could do, and not worry about the rest. Several friends emailed jokes to me on a daily basis the entire time I was in treatment. Emma
