Right now I'm not really doing anything... I refuse to take anymore

steroids.....REFUSE! And I can't take any immune suppressents right now, I

got a spider bite, and it set up a MRSA staph infection that got TOTALLY out

of control, I was in the hosp. for weeks on vancomycin (nasty stuff) and they

were starting to get worried that I wasn't going to get better. So I'm drug

free for now in hopes that my immune system will quit attacking the " good

things " (like kidneys and liver) and start attacking the " bad things " . I

will probably be starting Imuran soon....the standard stuff hasn't worked too

well for me. I still lean on Loratab for pain managment but try to stay away

from it unless I REALLY need it. Really Low carbing has been the best

treatment I've tried! When I asked my Dr about it she said she is for

whatever works....so here I am!

Mari anne,

I was depression meds (Paxil) before starting Atkins. Within one to two

weeks (can't remember) on Atkins, I was off all meds . Haven't needed them

since.

The only thing I still struggle with are migraines. They'd like to put me

on a low dose of some anti-depressant to try to stave off the migraines, but

not for depression reasons.
