I have been paying for (I thought) independent living when I needed it.  Now I

find the insurance won't pay unless I go into an assisted living place.  (They

give your medicine give baths etc and I don't need that. Help!!!!!!It sounds

like a nursing  home and I don't need that.

Can anyone help?

Joan,

I hope I am not out of place by suggesting this.

Please go and visit some assisted living facilities. Assisted living

should actually mean that they are there to assist you as needed. Not

to control every part of your day.

I only have one semester left to become an occupational therapy

assistant. I have visited many local assisted living centers amd asked many

questions about what the residents do for themselves and when the staff gives

the assistance. That is why I said what I did earlier.

Please don't feel scared about what may happen. Check out the numerous

facilities that are offered.
