This is the curse of fibro LOL Listen, For the first year I had to take a lot of things. I had a lot of emotional problems back then and food, all I new about food was 'I was addicted to it!!!!' I could not control my carb intake, I could not control anything, and as much as folk were telling me, you just have to stop, I could not It is a terrible terrible thing to have addiction, and because I had addiction I needed the meds, and the meds were also feeding the addiction and this is a state I pray nobody I care for ever gets in This is how I got out of my vicious circle I totally focused on the nutrition. I made sure I had sea salt every day. Sea salt is a mgic cure, I am not kidding, it is fabulous because whether you are eating 'pure' or 'junk' sea salt helps the body gain all its minerals, even trace minerals I used substitutes for starch. these really were not the best thing for me because I cannot tolerate starch at all, but the lower and lower I could get thisd starch the easier it was later on when I needed to get off it Lactose too. I wanted to eat it. I new I had a problem with dairy but I felt I needed it. I started cutting out one thing at a time. I cut out milk first, thena bout a month later yoghurt (Up until I cut out the yoghut I used Greek Yoghurt because I new that had the least lactose. I then cut out cream and soft cheese, and remained on hard cheese only for about a year. In the end I cut that out tooo, and stayed off that for 18 month. I now can hve a tiny amount of hard cheese and cream if it comes from Unpastursed A2 milk, but I will when I gwet time share more about this Next I worked on the furctose. I weaned down to apples, berries and lemon juice. About a month later I got off the apples and later the berries. In the end I ended up just on lemon juice which I now believe is the only fruit I can tolerate, and I even have to be careful with this. But I am not bothered, the other food I eat, particularly the protein food is so delicious, I now consider myself to be blessed. Almost illness free, and can eat steak, lamb chops, Pork Joint, salmon and tonnes of other great tasting food, and I can even have a second helping if I fancy. but I had to learn this gift, remember, carbs had a 'devilish' hold on me. I was brain washed, and this was not my fault, I was very young when all this started with me Anyway, you know I do not eat sugar, have not for a very long time but I also had to wean off the sweeteners. Gorden bennett, I can hardly even think about this without feeling poorly. To this dauy I still do not know how I did it. and I know this sounds like an exagersation but it was not Aspartame was my weakness and since those days I have learned why. Aspartame raises dopamine and it raises it a highly addictive manner. I would argue that in my case aspartame was at least as addictive as heroine. as you know I hang around with quit a few ex-addicts and I can tell you very very few of them had to go through the agony I had to go through to get off this anyway as I learned the skills to get oof all this ie eating 'pure' natural food, taking my supplements, slowly but surely gettign out of work places and even home places where 'nut jobs' had power in my life LOL and finding spiritual places to visit, a job I could do without being stressed, playing music at work whilst I had to put up with stuff and listening to my MCKenna etc. I managed to very very very very very slowly get off all my meds Besides paracetamol, I have not had to take any medication in two years. And beleive it or not it was when I got off the meds, thats when the rapid healing occured This is what this diet can do for you, or anybody, but first of all we really do have to fall in love with this diet and this life. It has to become our boyfriend LOL, My husband is laughing, but it does. It has to become number 1 in our life and we have to get besoted with it As you know, I belvieve this way of eating, particularly the ketosis way, is a spiritual gift Nuns and monks use ketosis to be closer to God, and this is why they fast so often when they are praying. Muslims, buddhists and Jews fast too for the very same reason. And I know in the USA many s fast but here in England fasting in the Christian community is basically unheard of, can you beleive that, can you Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Anyway, I will not get onto that, but what I will tell you if that our Lord Jesus can and will help anybody who asks Him, and I am frankly yet to meet one single person that did not have faith in god that could do this All the people I meet that are on the path are the most loving kind caring devouted folk I know and this more than anything confirms for me that this what I am doing is correct I know I cannot pass this experience on, this is something folk have to find out for themselves. but anybody new here reading this, who is still not sure if this is safe, workable, really healing and so on all I can say is go to the forums of the diets I have mentioned here and just lsiten in. you will be extremely surprised what you here My love to you all Joanne An Subject: Re: Low carb'high fat diet Colitis To: fibromyalgiacured Date: Tuesday, 26 April, 2011, 0:14 wow, ok, that is real close to what I am attempting. my blood pressure has been sky rocketing, with my recent trips to the ER and today my doctor prescribed a blood pressure medication, a side effect of it is that is makes me a little constipated which is good because when i flare i have the opposite problem....i have a great dr. who found a cork for me to take. lol Joy ________________________________ To: fibromyalgiacured Sent: Mon, April 25, 2011 5:55:35 PM Subject: Low carb'high fat diet Colitis I am not sure if I have already sent you this but just in case I did not, here is a very good article http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/crohns.html Barry Groves is a great guy, he works with the Weston Price Foundation and is keep to expose the many lies we have been told about how eating sugary and starchy carbs can be good for us and how unnatural vegetable oil do not harm us Barry Groves himself follows a high fat diet and as you will see if you examin his site his research is showing that many conditions, including Colitis, Arthrtis, Neurapathy etc can all be treated using good foods with a high fat diet that includes coconut oil, butter, olive oil and Codliver oil When i get time I will post more but now I must go to bed. I have been working all day and may well be doing so again tomorrow Love Joanne
