Guest guest
Hello Mia regarding kidney stones I think if you drink plenty of water and stay away from sodas etc you should be fine to do the Atkins diet I used to get kidney stones and I have not had any in 2 years and that was before I was doing gluten free and low carb diet I was tested for many food sensitivities a few years ago and wheat came up for me but its too hard to find anything without just wheat. I have felt so much better doing gluten free. I switched to quinoa pasta from whole foods and also Costco has an organic quinoa grain which you use instead of rice - I cook it in chicken broth and then add chopped up celery, green onions, tomatoes etc with a braggs vinegar /olive oil dressing. My husband even likes it. I did try the gluten free bread at whole foods for 9 a loaf and it was terrible. I bought a bread maker but have not yet made any bread. But, I was reading that just placing your bare feet on dirt or concrete for 40 minutes a day will remove the electromagnetism. So I have been sitting in the garage with my bare feet on the concrete for 40 minutes the last two days. I figure that if it seems to make a difference then I will spring for the indoor floor mat for $60.00. _http://www.amazon.com/Earthing-Universal-Mat-Cover/dp/B003RLOBOK_ (http://www.amazon.com/Earthing-Universal-Mat-Cover/dp/B003RLOBOK) I got the very lastest book on Hashimoto's and it recommends a glutton free diet too. So am going to do that for sure. It had a very good idea in it to simply test for glutton sensitivity. It says to go glutton free for 2 weeks, then eat something with glutton. If you suddenly feel terrible in the next day or two, then you have a glutton sensitivity. Since the questionaire I took said that I probably don't have a candida problem, I was wondering about just opting for a regular low carb diet like Atkins for Life. I am worried about the kidney problem with the ketosis since three of my family members have trouble with kidney stones and since I also have Hashimoto's. Guest guest
Hi Mia Yes quinoa is super high in protein and is gluten free the quinoa pasta taste much better than the rice pasta which to me taste terrible. I even have my husband eating it. Also I just bought off the web some farro grain but found it cheaper and organic at costco too. It can be used like a barley we have been adding a cup when we make soup and my husband has been making the bone broth. ( he had to quit his job to take care of me when I had the stroke so he has lots of time and actually likes to cook) If I try any bread recipes that work I will let you know. My husband is threatening me that he is going to make some cause he is sick of seeing the box our kitchen is small and we dont have space yet to put it in the kitchen...hopefully one day I am running out to run some errands but when I get back I will post my quinoa recipe to share I stay away from soy as well I read about the dangers first on a thyroid group on yahoo. Its funny I tell all my women friends and they cant believe it cause they think they are being so healthy eating soy products and eating lean cuisines and cant loose any weight Talk to you soon Ciao- Ange ________________________________ To: fibromyalgiacured Sent: Fri, November 18, 2011 9:08:52 AM Subject: Re: Mia: kidney stones Thanks so much Ange, I never drink sodas, not for years and years and years. I drink decaf coffee, water, tea and herbal tea. I didn't know that quinoa was gluton free. I do have a bread maker and would love a good recipe for glutton free bread if anyone has one. Due to my thyroid disease I cannot have any soy. Mia In a message dated 11/18/2011 6:18:41 A.M. Guest guest
Hi, I went though that for a while years ago, when I went gluten free-used gluten free products to bake with. I saw some less pain, but started on Bee' diet going gradually completely grain free. It was then that I saw the most improvement, and lost my sugar cravings. Even if grains are soaked, they still have high carbs, and can still have anti-nutrients we cannot handle if we are still sick. I think Atkins allows some grains, but hopefully they can be phased out to really get better. You don't miss them after a while, and they do not even taste good to us anymore if you do eat them.
