Guest guest
Hi Liz, I just asked the same question about bio-identicals. We must have hit the send button at the same time. I have taken HRT (Premarin) since 2005, but I was just diagnosed with fibro in June. I can't say if normal HRT helps., but I have seen several Websites for bio-identicals that bio-identicals relieve/cure fibro and other autoimmune disorders. -  ________________________________ Von: Joanne Ford An: " fibromyalgiacured " <fibromyalgiacured > Gesendet: 13:03 Donnerstag, 17.November 2011 Betreff: Re: Liza: HCG  Hello Liza, and welcome to our group. Can I ask you is the HCG diet the ketogenic diet that uses hormones to supress the appetite? If it is I am not too surprised it has helped you with your fibro, Ketosis is indeed the best treatment I have found for fibro.  I am not as certain about the hormones. I don't know that much about them, but generally fibro folk do not do well with hormones and I am thinking this part of the diet would have a negative effect on me  The other thing I was wondering about the HCG diet (Can you tell I have enquired about this, I did consider doing it a while back but did not have enough money to do so) do you also take supplements. Because the food in my country is of such poor quality on the ketogenic diet I am on I do need some suplements  Also, does the diet also insist on all natural foods. the Atkins diet can be used as a ketogenic diet but the folk on that diet do not eat all natural all the time. I am not against the Atkins diet, indeed it was the Atkins diet that got me low carbing, but I did notice that whilst I was not eating all natural I still had a lot fo fibro stuff going on  And last but not least, if I remember correctly the HCG diet encourages low calorie intake. I do know that low calorie intake with the right foods can be healthy for the body for some time and it helps the body detox a lot. But without the hormones suppressing the appetite I dont think I could eat low calorie.  On the ketogenic diet I am on now we eat a lot of fat, hence, more calories than the HCG (I think) but we do not gain weight. In fact I have lost 60lb using this diet and I have not even been counting calories. I simply eat plenty of fat and the fat itself suppresses my appetite.  I dont really know if my assumptoins here are correct, it is just what I remember from when I was investigating this diet a while back. I can see the advantages of the diet, both for weight loss and fibro, but long term what do folk on that diet do. Do they stay on the very low calories or do they increase their calories? how long must they take the hormones? Do you have to take the hormones to do the diet?  Hope I have not asked too much, I can see I have overdone it a bit with the questions. I am mainly interested because that diet is similar to the diet I am doing now. Or at least I think it is. And when I hear of folk using ketosis to treat their fibro I do get very interested  Love Joanne ________________________________ To: fibromyalgiacured Sent: Thursday, 17 November 2011, 13:10 Subject: HCG  Has anyone tried the HCG diet?
