On the " using hormones during breast feeding " issue. I don't think you can use the hormonal doses of estrogen and progesterine while breastfeeding as they will interfere with the milk supply....in fact, at the elevated doses they normally use, they would " shut off " the milk supply. And Jilly, I DO think you would need to/want to have the hormones after any surgery not just to build-up a lining but to promote healing and PREVENT further adhesions. It is my understanding that the high estrogen doses aren't there to build up an endometrial lining (although they do have that effect as well) but to speed and aid in the healing of the uterine walls after removal of adhesions and prevent the formation of new scarring. Thus, for that reason, I wouldn't consider surgery alone without the hormonal therapy afterwards. BUT, that's just my conservative opinion.....food for thought at least.

Corrina: Good luck on the 31st! We'll be thinking of you and sending you decidedly UNscary thoughts. I know what you mean about the " starting over " thing. My husband was busy quizzing me last night about whether we could start trying to conceive right away and I went over with him the importance of getting a lining measurement before trying because without a sufficient lining we might get pregnant but would be unlikely to STAY pregnant and that this could lead to more scarring after a miscarriage and we would have to " start all over " again. He hadn't realized that this could reoccur (I don't know why that never crossed his mind) and is now busy investigating different contraception methods now that I won't be on the pill and the IUD will be out so I never have to have adhesions removed again!
