dear Krista

I went to the doctor on thursday afternoon. I told him all my problems with

AF, and about us wanting to ttc. again soon, so he did an internal (YUCK!!)

aswell as a sonar. Nothing abnormal showed up, so he reconed that my body is

just tired of all the artificial hormones. I have always had problems with

AF and the pill. He suggested that I come off the pill now. He prescribes

some antibiotics just incase there is an infection somewhere that he

couldn't pick up, and some other stuff called Pixicam. It apparently cleans

out your uterus and tubes, incase there is any underlying endometriosis or

scarring that would cause the constant bleeding. It also just ups your

chances of conceiving, as it prepares your insides for pregnancy. He

prescribed prenatal vitamins as well, for the folic acid. Then he said that

we should use a spermicidal jelly for the next 2 months or so, untill we

want to ttc. and also to give my body a chance to heal itself. If the

bleeding won't stop by the end of next week, then he wants me to go for a

HSG., otherwise he said to try for about 8 months, and if nothing happens,

then he will do a HSG. as well as some other tests, and then we would have

to start thinking of taking another course of action like stims. or such.

My chances of getting pregnant again easily is very slim, which is why he

doesn't want to leave us for too long before looking further into it.

Anyway, I felt quite good about the meeting, he was very sympathetic, and

answered all my questions, so I feel positive about the future, and very

excited about ttc. again.

We will see what happens. I am just glad to be stopping the bcp's after all

these years. the dh. also seems to be excited about the prospects. Now I

just have to fugure out a way to make myself wait till December.

Let me know what you think of the appointment.

take care

Sonja

Sonja,

I must tell you that your doctor sounds like a very wonderful, to the point,

and knowledgeable person. I can imagine how confident you must feel to have

a " plan " . I totally agree with his recommendations, and it seems that you

are, too!

It is the doctors who leave open-ended questions that worry me! Thankfully,

your doctor is NOT like that!

Take care,

Krista
