I really liked this article. It helped explain a few things regarding how LDN

(Low dose Naltrexone) works to adjust the immune system. LDN works on the T

cells and helps the body switch from the T2 to T1, thus balancing them out.

There must be a glutathione connection there also, but I’m not sure how that

comes in. I know there are many that are now calling LDN an immune modulator. It

will be interesting to see how this all ties together.

and autoimmune disease

Here is an article about how autoimmune is caused, and the role of low

glutathione in relation to this

is selling a porduct here, and personally I really dont think we need that,

the stuff we do here is substantially cheaper and does the same job, but the

good thing about this article is that it does explain, better than I can how and

why autoimmune illness like Hashimot develops

(Please make sure you click on part 2 too at the bottom of the page)

is great, Dr Mercola is wise too, and there are a few others, when I get

time I will post some links. Make sure you sign up for Dr Mercolas news letter,

its free and very informative

fibro

Hi Joanne,

Thank you for all the info you have provided so far. I am a world away from

you, in California, so by the time I have gotten the info you sent and was

able to look at it, with the time difference, it might look like it took

me a long time to take it all in, but I have only been up 3 hours or so. So

I have been a bizzee bee taking it all in this morning. :-)))

I have resisted taking drugs so that is not a problem. I do realize

through this that I need to get the thyroid meds right, which I already knew. I

have to take them because my thyroid is pretty much dead now and not able to

produce the hormones that I need, so no diet will change that.

Unfortunately, Hashimoto's causes high cholesterol so the diet is iffy for me.

However,

I am doing many aspects of it right now, I try to get enough lean protein

and stay away from sugars, I do have whole grain from time to time but do

not make a habit of it. I do have brown rice, but only a couple times a

week. Other than that, I pretty much eat like the diet you sent me. Doctor says

my blood sugar is perfect so that he knows that I am eating right.

I saw something on EMF's here. That is something that peaked my interest.

Last year, just before I got really bad, our power company installed a new

meter on the side of our house that emits a signal every few minutes. They

are called Smart Meters. I did not want it installed and protested, but it

was installed anyway. I am on a list to have it removed, but there are

legal issues being worked out between the power company and the county. So for

an indefinite period of time, it is here to stay. So I think I could use

some info on EMF's.

I am thinking right now I need to focus on getting my thyroid checked

again, because if I get enough T3 the fibro dies right down. I do still need to

be a little careful after that, like not overdoing exercise, but for the

most part it goes away. If that checks out ok and the fibro does not die

down, I am ready to explore more of the vast information you seem to have at

your finger tips. I already gathered a couple of things from the video you

just sent that I didn't know and I have read a lot.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your warm welcome into the group

and all the info you have sent so far. You seem so dedicated to helping

others and I admire that completely. :-) I would also love to hear from other

Hashimoto's patients and their experiences concerning this.

Thanks again Joanne!

Here is what is going on in fibro, but we DO NOT need any of the drugs

this man suggests

_

(

Note, he said we have low dopamine, low seratonin, low noradrenaline, but

high glutamate and high substance P

Research has shown that when folk go into ketosis, glutamate is turned

into GABA and because the glutamate is reduced the substance p reduces

Also when we have enough GABA dopamine seratonin and noradrenaline balance

out

The ketogenic diet increases GABA and from what I am seeing with other

people i think a low carb diet in general can do this too

Hope this is helpful. It will make more sense over time

Love Joanne
