Guest guest
It was just a thought. They have me on 1800 calories a day, each small can gives 375 calories and at what my setting is it takes 4 hours and 15 minutes for one can empty, Do the math and you'll see that is 5 cans a day at a little over 4 hours a piece. It was worth a try any way Thanks ron patterson ronpat0471@...
Guest guest
Ron, Did you talk to the doctors about increasing your setting? Sometimes it can be done safely sometimes it can't. Guest guest
I am running at a 60 right now. I was more or else thinking about being some where and missing a feeding. I was in the doctors office the other day for 5 hours and when I got home I was just thinking about ways to catch up. It's sorta frighten sometime to watch the doctors going so slow on things. Sometimes I just want to grab one and shake him and tell him that time wasted now deadly to me, Any one else ever feel like that? ron patterson ronpat0471@.... jbrosenfeld wrote: > Did you talk to the doctors about increasing your setting? > Sometimes it can be done safely sometimes it can't. Hi Ron pat There are plenty of doctors I would love to thump on the head, or shake them until their teeth rattle too. <g> Seriously, Jess is right, see if the rate of your tube feeding can be increased. It must be frustrating to feel connected to the pump. You really do need that 1,800 calories each day. Take good care of yourself. Guest guest
Ron When I was dealing with this issue with my dad a few years back, we had the same problem. The doctor's office was over an hour away from home then you sat and waited for 3-5 hours to see the doctor. I finally started bringing the stuff with me to do his feedings. I would check in and tell the office workers we were going to do a feeding in the parking lot and to call my cell phone if it was dad's turn. I would then set up the pole outside the car door, roll down the window and hook him up to the feeding bag through the open window. It worked great. After about 2 weeks, I started seeing other patients doing the same thing. Maybe you can try it and see if it will work for you. a ron pat wrote: I was in the doctors office the other day for 5 hours and when I got home I was just thinking about ways to catch up. Guest guest
Its worth a try, all the doctors there are very vain I think the embarrassment of people doing that would get to them big time. I have a small lap I use in the waiting room for chemo and radiation most of the time I will just sit and watch a movie. Stop on the way there and pick a movie up and next day return the movie and do it all over again. The chemo is the worst a hour in the waiting room and most of the time 2 two three hours getting chemo ron patterson ronpat0471@... > > When I was dealing with this issue with my dad a few > years back, we had the same problem. > > the pole outside the car door, roll down the window and hook > him up to the feeding bag through the open window.
