Guest guest
Hi group, Since I could not find any totally natural mascara, I attempted to make my own. On line recipes were a little help, but most were complicated. I had made my own lip gloss, so I went about it the same way. I melted in a glass measuring cup, sitting in a pot of water, 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil, a 1/2 teaspoon of unrefined shea butter and 1/2 teaspoon of yellow bee's wax, along with a capsule of activated charcoal I opened up(this is sold in health food stores as a stomach remedy ). After it melted I poured it into a empty compact. It solidified quickly. I assume when warmer weather is here, I will just have to use just shea butter. It has a long shelf life. I bought on ebay some spoolies(disposable mascara wands). They can be washed and reused some. I just brushed the wand over the cake, and applied like usual, and used another wand to finish it off. I also used this on my eyebrows using a eyebrow brush/comb. These seems to work well, but assume this is not waterproof. How does this sound to you? Thanks. C.
