Guest guest
Dear friends, Had the bilateral mammogram today which was a 6 month follow-up on both breasts for " suspicious areas " after unsatisfactory exams in 1/00 and 6/00. The radiologist said that there are no changes and I don't have to come back for ONE YEAR!!!!!!! Another blessing this week was when I saw the foot surgeon and told him about the pain in my right shoulder where I had previous rotator cuff surgery and a clavicle resection.. asking him which surgeon he would recommend to follow it up. He said that even though he does ALL the foot surgery.. he likes to " keep his hand in the other orthopedic surgeries " and since he does just about all the " diabetic patient surgery " .. he would like me to bring the records from the shoulder surgery along with the previous x-rays when I come back to see him to have the stitches taken out of my foot. (tentatively scheduled for Jan 15.) He said that he probably would order a MRI as he is afraid that the clavicle is " regrowing " and could be causing another rotator cuff tear. Even though I have severe panic disorder and have no idea how I will " survive " an MRI.. I have a semi peace in that I trust the foot surgeon, and I will ask the anesthesiologist next Thurs. before the foot surgery what we could do about the panic disorder and an MRI.. I have been told that it is sometimes possible to be " put to sleep " before an MRI.. One other praise.. I have an appointment with my OBGYN on Jan 6, at which time I will ask him his recommendation about the " lump " under my right arm.. maybe the MRI is the way to go with that as well... the surgeon that I saw 2 weeks ago after the ultra-sound (that he never even bothered to read the results of..) with the " wait and see " attitude.. wrote that since I am a " steroid dependent diabetic " and " given her problems with anesthesia " , leave it alone.. even though it is " suspicious " ... the radiologist that read the ultra-sound recommended a biopsy.. this may seem like an unusual PRAISE.. yet, at least it is a possible step forward.. instead of just waiting and wondering.. I continue to covet your prayers for my surgery on Dec. 28. I will not be " online " for a few days after the surgery, but I will try to write as soon as possible after it.
