Sometimes too much of a good thing can just be...well...too much! Guest guest
This is wonderful, but you know what, when I tried the liver cleanse diet, I got diarrhea from all the fruit I was eating! It lasted for days until I could get a good bottle of acidoophilus. My intesines were not ready for all that fiber. Guest guest
, Yes, lesson learned, but you know I only had 4 pieces of fruit a day. And in only 3 days, I had diarrhea. I take fiber and all kinds of things without that reaction. UUGGGHHH!!! I wouldn't think that small amount of fruit would do that! I guess I don't know my body as well as I thought I did. It takes time to learn what works and what doesn't. 4 pieces is actually a lot, though, if you hadn't been in the habit of it. And it also depends on what kind of fruit, too. For example, apple juice can loosen the bowels, while apples themselves have the opposite effect (if you have a lot of either). Bananas can be binding, too. Do you remember what kind of fruit you had? Although I'm guessing you're not anxious to experiment with that again any time soon after the experience you had!! rachel~
Guest guest
I haven't been following this thread but having just read through this post, I wonder if you've heard of Juice Plus Orchard Blend capsules: " provides naturally balanced whole food nutrition from a wide variety of nutriously dense fruits. The absorption of vital nutrients has been scienftifically demonstrated....provides whole food extracts containing natural fruit juice powders, fruit fibers and food enzymes, along with phytonutrients and acidophilus... " I gave this to my 7 yr old grandson who was unable to tolerate fruit as it gave him diarrhea. He was able to tolerate the Juice Plus very well, (I open them and mix them with a smidge of applesauce or yogurt), he never had a problem with it and is now able to eat all the fruit he wants. I get mine from Donna. There is also a Juice Plus Veges. These are great for getting fruit and vege nutrients into kids or anyone else for that matter. I was reminded by someone on another list that it's recommended by many sources not to combine fruits and vegetables. So I'll add an addendum to that post by saying that since fruit is digested faster, it's probably best to have it before a meal or as a snack between meals, but not after the meal. I still think, though, that the important thing is getting it IN there, and then maybe once a habit is established, working on the whole combining aspect down the road. just my .02 rachel~ The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but in the end there it is. " Winston Churchill
Guest guest
Hi , That is correct with the fruit, the only fruit you can add to meals is the apple, and I believe there is one or two more and I can't think of what they are...lol. Actually, fruit in itself makes a splendid meal in itself, especially the melons! oh yummmmm......
