I need to find non-group insurance that will cover my ASD son that will provide some of the special services that he needs. Is there such a thing or are we all on our own. Someone told me that the Florida Healthy Kids Insurance might offer some of this. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated. B. Sneak preview the all-new Yahoo.com. It's not radically different. Just radically better.
Guest guest
Thank you all who have been kind enough to respond to me about Healthy Kids. I've been trying to figure out whether or not to go with this insurance or to simply keep the insurance that we have. The insurance that we have (CIGNA) is pretty much useless since they cover none of the therapies, etc. that my PDD son needs. I see that Healthy Kids covers some, but when I called my OT, who does take it, I understand that the benefits that they provide for OT, Speech, ABA, etc., are at their discretion. Does anyone have any experience with whether or not they provide benefits to high functioning kids? I HATE dealing with insurance but obviously, if they actually provide some benefits, it would be worth my efforts. Thanks in advance to everyone. B.
