Guest guest
Today I started an exercise program offered free at my church. it is the Fit and Fall program. Many communities offer it. It was created for seniors. I am participating in it because of my lupus and fibro. It is to improve balance and flexibility. It meets twice a week for an hour. None of the exercises were hard. There was a chair you could sit in to exercise if you chose. We had stretch bands also. My reaction: It got my heart rate up a bit. It made me tired. I had to take a nap after I got home. BUT it felt good also. I had a bit of trouble with some of the actions with the knees. THey told me not to do anything that hurt. It felt really good to go through the program. It lasted about 35 min today since some were new and had to fill out paperwork. I am looking forward to next Monday where I can do it again. It has encouraged me to try to do more at home also. Next week she is sending home some home exercises. Just wanted to share. maryruth
Guest guest
Hello Thank you for sharing. I will check my area to see if they are offering this program. I have been doing physical therapy twice a week for my leg for two months and still feel off balance. I moved up to 5 pound ankle weights yesterday. I have been trying to get my husband to go for walks even if its for a short walk. He needs to loose 25 pounds and then he can stop taking one of his meds. I have lost about 20 pounds since I had my stroke in March I think because I am able to eat better since I have not been back to work and not the stress of work. > > Today I started an exercise program offered free at my church. it is the Fit > and Fall program.
