Guest guest
I must have been asleep at the wheel for the past year or something. Today I got a call from Dan Marino Center saying they will not honor 's medicaid medipass card for her appointment next week and that she should be on some form of hmo now. I have received nothing in the mail except for her yearly eligibility form which arrived a week past the return due date because they have not succeeded in getting our address change into the system despite repeated trials. I never heard anything about the hmo business past the last word I got from our CDC coordinator that it would not be affecting special needs kids. Well, surprise surprise I guess it is. Am I the only one who doesn't know what the heck is going on? Have you all been assigned or chosen hmos? I went thru the archives but could only find letters to the governor from April. Apparently all our doctors and therapists will be accepting different hmos? We have, as I'm sure many of you do, a severely medically involved child and we had just gotten all her therapies and doctors lined up in a row...docs at Dan Marino, Joe DiMaggio, therapist at APS which apparently is only accepting one hmo...United healthcare...and here we are in the middle of setting up our brand new dynovox we waited 5 years for with our beloved SLP. I've been really sick for quite some time and have obviously missed the boat here...can anyone help me? Do our CDC coordinators help with medicaid? Ours is in the hospital. MY husban has been out of town for weeks for his job and it has been all I could do just to take care of . Anyone out there with some advice? Please write me gldcst@...
