Hi Joanne,

I am also well aware of Bees diet. As far as diets go, I've pretty much

researched them all and tried flavors of all of them. We are actually on a

hybrid Bees and GAPS since we avoid fruits, honey, and limit the sweeter

vegetables like winter squash. After 2.5 years of avoiding all dairy, all fruit,

and nuts, we currently do a very very minute amount of bread made from ground

seeds and nuts since my husband has proven to be very deficient in all sorts of

amino acids, and we also have worked up to several tablespoons of home made sour

cream that has been incubated for 36 hours with yogurt starter.

I am more than happy to discuss the issue of EMFs and dirty power more because I

remember how desperate we were when my husband was in quick decline and we

couldn't figure things out. My husband gets very depressed about his condition

and feels like his world has diminished so much. He is also very chemical

sensitive and has not had a real job for 3 years. For so many years, we were

just guessing at what was wrong, and when we tried this supplement or removing

that item, it only helped marginally. With all the cell towers being erected

constantly, better and better wifi networks and technology to boost the signals,

and those water smartmeters getting installed, I feel like we as a society is

really in for a lot of pain if we don't quickly realize all the health issues

these items are causing.

I've been reading how in the UK, there has been a lot of protest regarding cell

towers going up and they believe there's a link between the high rate of

suicides in certain areas and cancers to the cell towers. I read an article

recently about how some Canadian mothers are thinking of keeping their child

from school on Wednesdays so the child can have a break from the wifi. For some

reason, I feel like we are much slower to catch on over here in the US. With

most mainstream folks, I rarely discuss this or our diet, because they always

act like we're nuts.

What we have done is to eliminate all the high radiation (electromagnetic and

electric radiation) items in our household, and all items that are especially

high in dirty power. For the electromagnetic and electric radiation, we have a

Trifield meter that takes decent measurements. Most items with a strong motor

(think noisy) will be fairly high in electromagnetic radiation.

Some of the common items that test high include:

Vacuum cleaner (this tested high in electromagnetic radiation as well as dirty

power) -- we are currently using a roomba, which does not do as good a job, but

okay enough.

Hair dryer - we simply air dry. There's a low EMF hair dryer out on the market

that I've seen.

Hair clipper - we haven't been able to find one that works yet. I am about to

throw in the towel and learn to cut my husband's hair with shears.

Shaver - my husband went back to a regular razor

Waterpik - this tested very high in electromagnetic radiation and we've been

hurting since we stopped using this. We are planning to take it apart and try

shielding it with some shielding foil we found online.

Rototiller -- my husband was sick for 4 days after we tried to set up some

raised beds before we realized we had forgotten to test it. It was high in

pretty much everything including dirty power.

Computers -- this can really vary. Apparently, some companies do a better job of

shielding the equipment. We are currently using apple monitors, which actually

were the most decent of the monitors we tested, and apple laptops. My Dell

laptop issued from work tested very high in dirty power, but I was able to find

a different adapter/charger that was low enough to work. If possible, don't keep

wires and cables near your body. We have everything wired to go into an

equipment rack that sits across the room from my husband. If using your monitor,

make sure you stay a foot or two away. Monitors have high electromagnetic

radiation, but seems to dropoff pretty quickly.

Phone -- if you are using a cordless phone, this can be as bad as the cell

phones as they are pretty powerful these days and engineered so you can step

into your backyard and still make a call. My husband is so sensitive that even

though we only use a corded phone, he has not been able to use it. We've even

tested him out with a headset. He is currently making calls through Skype on his

computer with no speakers or microphones (he uses the one in his apple monitor),

basically two feet or so away, with nothing touching his head when making calls.

Fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs -- these are extremely high in dirty

power. It has something to do with the mechanics with how they work, which I can

explain more if you're interested. We actually went with no artificial lights

altogether and have several LED lanterns that we use around the house. These we

run with rechargeable batteries that we charge in a remote room upstairs.

Some things that test high, we've kept if we are able to use it in a reasonable

manner. For example, the stove emits high electrical radiation, but my husband

stays away from it when I'm cooking. The food processor emits high

electromagnetic radiation, so I try to turn it on, step back, and then turn it

off.

We also own a dirty power meter/tester which my husband thought was completely

hokey until I purchased it and found out about the UPS. We actually had 2 other

older brands of UPS (uninterrupted power supply, also known as battery backup)

in our house and they both tested extremely high. The thing that gets me is that

the year that we first got a UPS for our home was the very year my husband was

diagnosed with bipolar. We've also noticed that the bipolar will flare up when

he's been zapped. When we inadvertently zapped my husband with the rototiller,

he not only had bad fibro pain for 2 days, he went manic for 4 days. We've given

up the UPS as well and simply go without any kind of electrical backup for our

computers right now.

We keep most of our electrical items unplugged unless we need them. We also turn

off the power circuit to the rooms we sleep in (my husband and I sleep in

adjoining rooms since he is so sensitive to sound and has so many sleep issues).

We have only 7 of our 16 house circuits on during the day -- we keep on the

central air, fridges, freezer, and computer room circuits during the day. At

night, the water heater and computer room gets turned off, so we operate at 5 of

the 16 when we go to bed. The dedicated circuits for the dishwasher, dryer, and

washer all are turned off and only get turned on for the hour or two we use the

appliance when we need them.

One more thing -- cars are very high in electromagnetic radiation in the front

seats. People sensitive to EMFs recommend a pared down car with the least amount

of automatic features and computer as possible. My husband sits in the back when

we go out to the park.

Sorry for the extra long message. Hope this helps!

Sara
