Guest guest
Hi all, I've been lurking on this forum for awhile. My husband has many health problems, one of which is fibromyalgia which surfaced a few years ago, and got so intense about 1.5 years ago that he would wake up nightly writhing in pain, and couldn't get back to sleep for a couple of hours even though he was taking a lot of sleep medication (which he was prescribed for since he is diagnosed also as bipolar). We are on the GAPS diet, which I have seen mentioned on this group. It's very similar to atkins, with a large emphasis on healing the gut by giving it a rest from foods which may aggravate it and taking probiotics and probiotic foods. GAPS alone did not help us with the fibromyalgia, but has eliminated a bunch of my husband's health issues including fatigue, reflux, hemorrhoids, skin issues, and slow weight gain throughout the years. One thing we found about 9 months ago that was a HUGE, HUGE contributor to the fibromyalgia are EMFs and dirty power. In a state of desperation to figure out what was wrong, we were trying everything and had purchased a bunch of meters and testing equipment. One of the items we had in our house for the last 12 years is a UPS (battery backup) that measured at over 80x the safety limit for dirty power. Almost overnight, we simply stopped using most of our electronics since many of them measured very high in EMFs and magnetic and/or electric radiation. We also switched out to a cotton and wool mattress since normal beds contain a lot of metal beams and coils that act as antennas. See this article: http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/2010/07/02/left-sided-cancer-blam\ e-your-bed-and-tv/ Since then, my husband's fibromyalgia has diminished a lot and only surfaces occasionally when he's been " zapped " inadvertently or when there's a large electromagnetic storm/solar flare going on. I am also a member of the Yahoo EMFRefugee group, and we're toying with the idea of moving into an area with less cell towers and less densely populated. BTW, I saw some posts about numbness recently. I wanted to mention that although I've never had the severity of health problems my husband has, I've been suffering from limb numbness for many years. I also had several boughts of what I thought was severe carpal tunnel issues. Since we've changed our diet, these issues have greatly diminished, and improved even more when we found the EMF link.
