NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL

EMERGENCY RESPONSE UPDATE

What is ERU 2001?

Emergency Response Update 2001 is the conference your colleagues have been

talking about. The one with the no nonsense, down to business approach

you've

been looking for, with the topics you're interested in and the networking

opportunities you want. Set for January 17-21, 2001 in Orlando, Florida,

it's

five power packed days of hands-on skill sessions. This is your chance to

see

the newly revised National Safety Council programs incorporating the

American

Heart Association's new CPR guidelines and learn how to use the program

materials in your training. This is also your opportunity to learn what the

future in emergency response will hold, earn CEUs, upgrade your

certification

or cross over to teach National Safety Council First Aid Institute courses.

Why should I attend?

Four on-target tracks include Educational, Administrative, Clinical and --

new this year -- Emerging Trends. If you've heard rumors about changes in

your profession, wondered about new technologies, or have been concerned

about societal trends and how they impact your job, you'll find the answers

here. You will also find increased opportunities to network and exchange

ideas with colleagues during sessions and breaks.

Our 2001 expanded exposition gives you the chance to get the first peek at

the next generation of emergency response technology.

Who should attend?

o First aid, CPR responders and instructors

o Paramedics and EMTs

o Fire, ambulance, and other emergency personnel

o Health care professionals

o Training agency managers and administrators

o Everyone interested in EMS education

o

How can I become authorized as a National Safety Council instructor?

There's never been a better time to learn than at Emergency Response

Update.

During our expanded, two-day pre-conference workshops, you can learn to

teach

your choice of First Aid Institute courses for an affordable price that

includes an instructor manual and sample student text.

When you attend Emergency Response Update 2001, your registration fee pays

for everything upfront. You will enjoy:

o Launch of the National Safety Council's newly revised FAI programs

o Welcome reception and networking opportunity

o Your choice of 8 informative sessions selected from a menu of 32 sessions

in 4 different tracks

o Entrance to the exhibit hall

o Coffee and soda breaks

o Continental breakfast on Friday and Saturday

o Lunch on Friday and Saturday

o Ice cream social & raffle

o Keynote sessions

All conference events will be held at one location. This is an intensive,

professional learning experience: no traveling from one location to another

and no added expenses or distractions.
