Special weekend prayers out to you that everything goes well.

I am happy for you and Don that the NH will be picking him up

on Monday. This move will give you more quality time with Don

and allow you to keep your health up too.

It is indeed a happy time and it will get even better for

both of you.

Oh Imogene I am so very happy for you! This is wonderful news and I know you

will get through this weekend the very best you can. You now have a light at

the end of that long tunnel and rest is just beyond that! Monday night you will

be able to put your head on that pillow and truely get some real rest. And

Tuesday morning you can get up and just sit with a good cup of what ever you

like and just stare into space if you want to. I did many days of just slowly

walking around and then sitting down and not even thinking about anything. Well

I did think a little (well maybe a lot) about chocolate candy. Come to think of

it, I seem to have had some in the house that disapeared. But that does seem to

happen here, I think it is a Colorado thing LOL!

You take care Dear Lady, and don't over do this weekend if at all possible. I

will pray that you have a gentle and relaxing weekend!

Hugs to you,

Sherry in Colorado

Imogene,

Such good news. It should be a fine weekend because it has an end of Monday.

hard.

Please plan on the rest of Monday for yourself to R & R. Chocolate or whatever

is good.!

Thank you Sherry, I need rest, but having Don gone does not mean I will

get any.

My own health is what wakes me up more than him. When I do get up with him

it is to change his diaper, and then back to bed. If he wets the floor, I

throw old towels on it until the caregiver can clean it up. Well, not on the

weekends , of course.

Today was a beautiful day.

Marilyn, Thank you so much. I may have my caregiver come late, or even

Re: Re: Don will go in the NH Monday at 11 A.M.

, thank you dear friend. Actually we cried. I wasn't going to tell

Don, but he told me he knew something was going on, that he wasn't totally

crazy, and then he cried. Well, I told him, and I cried with him. We did a

lot of reassuring, and showering each other with a lot of love. After his nap

he was fine with all of it. He packed his tooth paste, some papers, and a

bunch of other small junk in a shoe and was ready to go. We had a wonderful

late afternoon and evening.

you can look after yourself more, which you certainly deserve.

we wanted at all and not to worry about the cost. I am anticipating a lot more

Me too, Sandie, It has all happened right on time. Everyone was so sweet.

I saw nastiness out of no one. We had a good lunch together, and I put

him to bed. It is a very comfortable soft bed. He was very happy about that.

This is the first NH with good beds.

The NP was going to visit him as I left. Poor baby isn't going to get his

nap today from the looks of it. The nurse had to check his vitals, and a

cleaning man was going to clean the bath room, and someone else was going to

check his swallowing reflexes. And, someone else for his yeast infection, as

well as bed sores, which he doesn't have. Perhaps the Nurse Practitioner

will do that.

I will tell someone else more of our saga.

Courage, Thank you dear,

I am sure things will improve. They are bound to. Saturday Don packed his

shoe, which tickled me, because he was so cute and sincere. I wouldn't let

myself see the alternative of the situation.

Sunday was another situation. He woke up from his nap in a bad rage. He

came to me with a fist in my face, and said he wanted to smash someone's

face. I looked up at him, he saw that I had been crying, so he said not mine

but someone's. He poured most of his Dr. Pepper on the floor. He threw my

crackers and cheese on the floor. He grabbed my arm once and I waited until he

loosened his grip then I pulled away, knocking over my glass of wine onto

our new throw rugs, my chair, and my clothes. His rampage went on for about

an hour. I tried to get him to take a Seroquel and he spat it out. I put it

in the rest of his drink which he wouldn't drink. Finally I turned on the

TV and he picked up his drink absent mindedly and drank it.

I had called my daughter, and after that if I left the room to go to the

bath room he followed to check up on me. I put something in the office he

followed and asked if I was going to call someone. He calmed down later on.

I was so nervous after that rampage I was too wound up to go to sleep. I

was half afraid, too. Yet, if I closed my door and locked it, that would

have made the rage worse. He went to sleep, and I didn't until after I took 2

1/2 mg of Valium to take the edge off. Sleep finally came around 1:30 A.M.

And guess who woke up exhausted at 5:15 A.M.? I couldn't fall back to

sleep. It may take several days for me to unwind enough to get some rest.

But, we got him situated. It's an older building, but the people are very

sweet, so far. The nurse that took care of us has been in that wing for 27

years I think she said, maybe 26. The Aid has been there 12 years. The

administrator is as nice as they come. The nurses bragged about him too.

So on that note, I'll let you go, and thank you again,

Love a lot, it never fails,

Hi Barbara, It has happened and I feel he will be made happy.

Have you looked into Medicaid for your mother? A person doesn't have to be

destitute to have the kind of Medicaid we have. We still have our

Medicare, and I still get both our SS checks. But, our Medicaid pays for either

a

caregiver or a nursing home.

You may talk to an Elder Attorney and get advise on it, or talk to your

Social Security office. I really don't know who to talk to because we got it

when Don went to his first NH and a family friend set it up for us. After he

was home and we asked for help through the Medicaid office using Don's

number, a lady came out and signed us both up for it. She took one look at me,

and then I showed her my Medical history, and that is when she said I

needed it too.

Hope this will ease you mother's mind. Also I will send you a letter I

sent to someone else to show you how positive a place can feel. to wit:

Yes, I already figured out how to rearrange the furniture to make a

sitting area for us to watch TV together, or for me to read when he sleeps. I

can

put in a nice chest of drawers and my computer. They have Cable. Right now

he is in a room by himself. I hope it stays that way. They needed the extra

bed somewhere else. In time the bed will come back.

Oh yes, there is a magnolia tree in a small court yard out his window

which will make an idea spot for our bird feeder, and bath.

My legs have been so swollen lately that I am sure I have heart failure,

and may go in there with Don. We'll see. I won't move quickly on that score.

But, you can see my wheels have been turning. :))

It isn't all depressing. It is all in how you perceive it. It can be a

happy little home, or a hell hole.

Oh Dear Imogene, isn't it amazing how even in the stage Don is at, he can

somehow understand the ramifications of his behaviour? This is such an

unpredictable journey. One has to feel very sorry for him and the depth of

feelings that caused his rage. I am so relieved that you are now safe, able to

share. I wish for you to recover well, heal and enjoy Don in his new home.

Love to you both

Hey Darling HIS Sherry, I started this letter, and ran out of fuel. I

needed to go to bed and recharge, then later I got up and still didn't get to

it. But, my dear friend,

I am very pleased that you wrote, and thank you so much for your cheering

me on with good wishes.

I stayed home today, as it has been raining, and I needed to catch up on a

huge laundry, and a ton of other things.

came and we packed up some things to take to Don. She is a darling,

and

cares very much for Don, and wants to do all she can to see to his

happiness. I am so deeply glad and thankful for her.

For a change I ate lunch the way I wanted to. Thinly sliced Zucchini

squash with a dab of ranch dressing on it. Avocado, Tomato and banana. It was a

delicious plate.

I hope to do more of that.

I am happy and relaxed today. Have had the phone hanging in my ear, but

otherwise have kept busy, and just keep praying Don will do likewise.

Sherry, how is your Mother doing in the NH now? I know there were problems

when she first went in, and goodness knows you were some sick! You handled

it like a gentle pro and I so appreciated the lesson. But, really how is

she?

Love you dear,

Imogene

Hey Sandie, keep that cold up there! We are going to have freezing (maybe)

by morning. We may have another freezing morning tomorrow, and I hope that

is the last for this winter. I don't like any cold. None some a tall.

Love you darling,

Imogene
