Guest guest
I lost 5 pounds this week and don't know how I did it, bringing me to 34.5. Clothes are driving me crazy. Three weeks ago I bought three pairs of pants to make do with. I bought them at Walmart knowing they wouldn't last long. Already they are getting baggy. I've gone from a 20-22 to a 16. I am going to visit family next weekend and will have to get something new that will fit right so that everyone will see how much I have lost. Haven't seen them since august. As my clothes get too big I have been giving them to a neighbour of mine who can use them. I hate buying clothes to begin with and I don't have the money to keep buying every month. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck at second hand stores but I guess I will keep looking. I can't believe I am complaining about this. I should be thrilled that my clothes are getting too big! >> I dont know how I managed to do it, but I lost 3 pounds this week. >> That brings my total to 39 pounds gone. >> >> I started to clean out my clothes. Guest guest
LOL I wish I had this problem of losing and not knowing how, lol because I think you DO know how you did it and hopefully you wrote it all down! Perhaps a week or two ago you had a very small loss and it is now catching up with you I am jealous! I never lost more than 4 point something the whole time I have been losing This is wonderful news! Really marvelous Jen! You sound just like me! I started at 20-22 and when I got to 16 we took a trip too, to see family who had not seen me since before I started. I bought some Bill Blass jeans and some Tommy Hilfiger clothes, I know it was stupid of me. Right now I have some 16's left, I don't have a lot as when we moved we just didn't have room for my big clothes and I had to dump them. I thought I would look up a consignment shop. Did you ever consider the Goodwill? I know, I have mentioned it before, but when you are so in between that old clothes no longer fit and yet you know you have a ways to go, it really hurts to spend money on clothes that in one months time won't fit either! Too bad you can't ask ppl at your meeting if they have any 16s to give away. Re: Fwd: Sat 10/5 WI > I lost 5 pounds this week and don't know how I did it, bringing me to > 34.5. Guest guest
My leader gives out play money ($1000) to anyone who has a good week. Occasionally she'll auction off items and people can bring in things to auction off too. If someone brings in something, they get the " money " . I was planning to bring in my 18s and 16s to auction off, but I think my friend that just joined might rather have them. I think starting a clothing swap club at a meeting is a great idea. We had a babysitting co-op a couple years ago where everyone got color coded popsicle sticks and we'd trade them for babysitting time among the group. something like that might work for clothes too....or a trade in system...where you could " check out " the size you need in exchange for similar clothes in a different size....of course it would take time and a lot of participation to make it work....I guess like a lending library for clothes? I think you should ask at your meeting if anyone is interested in that...could be that someone would love to have your 20-22s and someone else might have those 16s just sitting in their closet. I know, I have mentioned it before, but when you are so in between that old clothes no longer fit and yet you know you have a ways to go, it really hurts to spend money on clothes that in one months time won't fit either! Too bad you can't ask ppl at your meeting if they have any 16s to give away. ----- Original Message -----

They fit as you go down through several sizes, getting better and better looking with each pound lost. WI: down 4.4 lbs--what I had gone up when I was following the " Diane plan " <g> and another kilo. Let's just see if it stays off, or if my body tries to go back to its comfort level. <sigh> --A
Guest guest
Chrystal, it will be a LOT easier to get new clothes than to drop 39 pounds when this streak of bad luck reverses itself and you get a job or win the lottery. Instead of seeing that you're broke, why not look at it positively. You're not eating to console yourself, your health is better and you CAN take in clothes. Congratulations!!!! Guest guest
Congrats ....Buy stretchy stuff, it might last longer. Maybe we ought to start a WW clothing exchange... >
Guest guest
I've done that before and ended up earning more than I spent. I spend as little as possible, knowing I (hopefully) won't be in that size very long. Guest guest
That is a great idea! I also wear wrap skirts all the time, I bought 3 a while back, and they still work great, even though I am 2 sizes smaller! A friend went to Bali and brought clothes back to sell, and I am going to buy a couple more! Guest guest
Why doesn't our group start a clothing exchange? Or we could just post when we have something available or what sizes we are now looking for, that could be kind of fun! Also, I've been selling my too big clothes on ebay and trying to buy replacements there, since hopefully I will be continuing to exchange them Joann Re: Fwd: Sat 10/5 WI > I lost 5 pounds this week and don't know how I did it, bringing me to > 34.5. Our group is in the beginnings of this. I don't know how it's going to happen, but we are talking about doing it quarterly over a weekend where members only shop the first day and it would be available to the public on the second day. I have pants that I wore 1 or 2 times and they no longer fit! Even shopping the clearance racks at Penneys outlet, this is getting expensive! LOL I think the online exchange would be great for those who don't attend meetings, but for those of us who do, it is less expensive if we don't have to pay shipping. And my daughters just reminded me that there are pants made along the same lines--they wrap and tie around the waist, one size fits all. But I think those you need to wear with platform shoes or your local township will have to pay you for sweeping the streets. -_A
Guest guest
I'm game. I have a bunch of 14s, 16s, and 12s that are sitting waiting to go to Goodwill. Most are in almost new shape because I only wore them for a few months. > Re: Fwd: Sat 10/5 WI > > > Why doesn't our group start a clothing exchange? Guest guest
I'd be up for that. I have only 2 meeting coupons left; after that I am not buying any more, since I signed up for e-tools--that will have to suffice. I never stay for the meeting anyway, just do the weigh in. I have some 12's and a couple of L's. I hopefully will have 10's in a couple of weeks;) Pretty much I get rid of stuff the minute it is too loose, which is why I don't have a lot. When I get my winter stuff out, hopefully I'll find more stuff to give away. On Sun, 6 Oct 2002 09:07:57 -0400 " jkatj " writes: > Why doesn't our group start a clothing exchange?
