Guest guest
Yes, - I believe that belly-button hernias can open again with subsequent pregnancies. BUT, I also have been told that if your hernia is severe enough, and you DON'T have it repaired before pregnancy that you could cause yourself intestinal problems/infections/perforations as part of your intestine can literally " pop through " the abdominal wall through the hernia which can cause infection or perforation. I don't know what makes a hernia minor or major....I would hazard a guess it has to do with the size. I would definitely ask your doctor....I went ahead and had mine repaired as part of my gallbladder surgery so I didn't have a " separate " procedure to fix it.... Gwen , Corinna, , I was just wondering if you got your belly button hernia fixed. I want to make a decision if I should fix it before I attempt pregnancy. There is a good chance of it opening up again once pregnant right? Gwen, any input on this? Corinna, I just re-read your profile questionnaire email again which you sent me privately and thought it was nice to mention to the rest of the group, that because you work part time, you are able to have a daycare child for 2 days a week to allow your daughter company. Perhaps that is something which other members with one child could consider too. Just a thought and at the same time it could be bringing in income for your treatment which is so expensive. I wanted to mention that I my last surgery (done in UK) was myometrial scoring. Poly
