Guest guest
Lu, Every 'body' is different but I can tell you what I do. If you haven't flushed out the stone that is causing the pain..yet.. you can learn to manage the pain until you finally get it out. You can try several things and see which works best for you. #1. Drink more ES. One TBLSPN in 4-8 ounces of water. This can sometimes relax the ducts and gb and allow the stones or sludge to either exit the duct or drop back down into the gb. #2. Apply a hot towel or oil pack over the gb. (This doesn't work for me because the pain is too severe. #3. Take antispasmodic medicine to relax the contractions of the gb. Allows the stones to drop back down out of the mouth of the gb, allowing the bile to drain out without obstruction. This 3rd choice works the best for me. Antispasmodic medication is what they would give you if you went into ER with the pain. I take pill form at home. You can buy antispasmodic medication over the counter in most farmacies or get something stronger prescribed by your doctor. Colic dissappears with me in about 10-15 minutes. Of course, the best cure for pain is to remove the stone. :-) Good luck with your health.
