Guest guest
Hi everyone, Firstly, let me apologise for not writing sooner, but for some reason I am not receiving mail, sending works fine , but nothing comes in, so I have just read all of the posts on egroups. Tara, I am soooooo sorry that AF found you too this month... leaving us two onto next month. Atleast we can do it together. I am now CD#2, so we are practically on the exact same cycle this time.. , I am holding everything that you get your +++++++++++++++++ today. Let us know what happens, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Joanne, I am sorry to hear you are having such a hard time, try not to worry too much, I know it is hard.... I will be thinking of you and your little baby, and I will send up a special prayer just for the 2 of you. Good luck, sweetie, try to be positive. To everyone...... I had my gynea. appointment yesterday afternoon, and all in all it was a good one... He did a truly thorough exam, with both an abdominal and vaginal (YUCK!!) scan. It was a bit uncomfortable, as I have my period, but not too bad. He was very concerned about the pains I've been having, so he did not want to wait untill the end of AF... My blood pressure is a bit better, though still strange at 110 over 60 compared to 95 over 70 on Monday, and a usual of 120 over 90... MY pulse is apparantly a bit high, but I reckon it was just coz I was so nervous. He could not find any reasonable explanation for the pains, but he did find quite a few cysts on both my ovaries, which we could see clearly on the sonar (vaginal) they looked like big black dots on my ovaries. My right ovary is slightly enlarged, which he didn't understand. The left on is about the size of a prune, and the right one just smaller than a golf ball. Good thing though, is that from what he could tell on the scans, my tubes look good.(from the outside) Because I have my period, he could also see my uterine lining, and he measured it as well . It is apparantly slightly thicker than usual, but still in normal range... What he wants to do now, is he put me on meds. which he hopes will clear up the pains, and then in 2 weeks time, if I still get the pains, he wants to do an beta HCG blood test (to rule out pg.) and then take me straight in for a HSG and lap. to check things out further, he also wants to run some hormone checks and analyse a sample of my uterine lining. He thinks that I may have PCOS (coz of the cysts he could see on my ovaries) or maby slight endometriosis. Apart from that, he has given me a OPK, and told me to carry on charting this month, as well as use the OPK, and then ( this is if the pain is sorted out) give it 8 weeks (2 more cycles) and then he will put me straight onto clomid, and so on. All this is a bit scary, but I feel so much better now that I am getting the kind of support I feel I need, and also that there is finally hope in sight. My only fear is PCOS, but if it does turn out to be that, atleast I know why things have been the way they have, and then I won't waste anymore time on ttc. naturally. MY dh. and I will still have to sit down and discuss whether we will go onto things like IVF, if it does turn out to be that way. I will just be glad to finally have some answers, the rest we will deal with when we come to it. MY dh. was so great at the app. yesterday. He sat with me the whole time with the sonars, and asked a 101 questions, which is good, coz I tend to clam up. He is the one who told the doc that we want a plan of action now, we won't go home with a simple, " carry on, and see " answer again. The gynea. said that he is 100% for me starting clomid straight away, but I agreed with him that we should maby first sort out the pain thing before going there, otherwise it might just be a total waste of time. Anyways, 8 weeks isn't that long, and atleast now I will have full support medically, this cycle, and I feel good about using the OPK. As for the temp. they did drop considerably the day I got AF. The gynea. was a bit concerned about the fact that they have been so high up to the drop, but he thinks that it may just have been a missed implantation. It definately wasn't a miscarriage in the sense, but he recons that we may have had fertilization. I am not going to dwell on that though, coz we will never know for sure, and it does happen so often, and if we did manage to have fertilization, then atleast I know it can happen, and that it may not be PCOS, but just endo. anyways, there you have the whole story. thanks again for all your support. Hopefully my email hassles will be sorted out by tomorrow. take care sonja
