Guest guest
Hi Debra: You wrote: >>I am planning on attending the AG Bell conference in Phili in July, since this will be my first time attending an AG Bell conference, I was wondering if any of you have had experience with the child care they provide<< I went to the last AGBell Convention two years ago. I left my then, very young kids home with my mother, but I'm bringing them this year. I asked a lot of people there about the child care and they seemed pretty pleased. I don't know if they're doing the same thing, but last time they had graduate students in Speech and Audiology watching the kids. The activities depend on the children's ages. Older kids went on supervised field trips to local area attractions. I can ask a friend of mine (who plans to join this list soon) for more details if you like. She brought her daughter who was about 3 or 4 years old and used their childcare. I understand that this year, the children will be in a separate building ( I think it is a school) across the street from the convention hotel. I'd love to meet you at the convention. They have a Parent's Room, a hospitallity suite where parents have meetings, coffee, a fundraising auction and generally hang out in between seminars. It was a WONDERFUL experience and meeting all the other people was as much fun as attending the informative seminars. If anyone else from this list plans to go, we should set up a day and time to try to meet in the Parent's Room. AG Bell is a good organization and they need terrific parents like the ones I've already met here. Take care, a
Guest guest
Great question. I am planning on attending with my family too. Maybe we should all plan on wearing a name tag of some sort so that we can identify each other, or else set a specific time and place to meet?
