Guest guest Posted September 16, 2000 Report Share Posted September 16, 2000 Hi all - I just got back from my first trip to our local Jewel Food Store (one of the 2 biggies in the Chicago area). I have been avoiding going to this store as it was under " reconstruction " and everything was moved around, on temporary shelves, and it took me 2x the amount of time to get through it. Anyway, I was walking down the baking aisle to get some Dream Whip mix to make my husbands birthday cake with (you know - a Dream Pie -- which I will look at and smell and not even think about tasting - not even licking my fingers when making the pudding!) when lo and behold a 100 ct. box of SPLENDA popped out at me - for $4.99!!! I thought this was a hard-to-find product and here it was in my local store! Anyway, anyone in the Chicago area who needs/wants some, pop over to the Jewel and grab it. If mine has it (I live in Oak Forest, IL - about 40 miles south of Chicago), then most should also have it. Just an update... Ooh...my food log for yesterday is as follows: Breakfast - egg white omelet w/cut up ham and 16 oz of water Lunch - 1 can of tuna mixed with mayo, celery and tomato and 16 oz water Dinner - Salmon filet w/ broccoli and cauliflower and 1 can of Diet Rite No idea of carbs, but I am SURE it was well below 20. I also had celery dipped in cream cheese for a nibble. Not much hunger on this end at all! So far today I had a salmon filet for breakfast w/ 8 oz of water and lunch was a hamburger and a glass of Arizona Ice Tea. I KNOW I need to drink more water and will catch up the rest of the day.....it is really hard to drink water and be out and about...no bathroom (well, a clean one if you know what I mean) to use! A delicate subject - we have discussed having constipation on Atkins, what about the other end of the spectrum?? The last 2 days I have been plagued with " the trots. " I don't want to take any drugs since I know that it is happening for a reason (usually about 30 minutes after I eat anything)....ideas everyone?? Weight this morning was still 333....I am still happy - that is 10 lbs less than I was last Monday and the LOWEST I have been in over 5 years!!!
