Hi Barry,

My father got kidney stones from taking vitamins when he was fairly young, I

think he was about 35 and the docs had him take some supplement for ulcer,

anyhow turned out caused more trouble than it was worth.

As for the gb, I would suspect a multi-vitamin supplement isn't going to do much

damage provided it's taken with healthy eating. As for mass supplementing, that

I wouldn't recommend to anyone other than those working with supervision and for

a specific reason. As the old saying goes " if it's not broke, don't fix it " .

Hope this helps.

Peace

Lu

Subject: Multi-Vitamins...?

Does anyone know anything about taking multi-vitamins daily effecting

the gb stone situation?

My friend who was diagnosed with kidney stones was told by his doctor

to stop the multi-vitamins because it could be a cause for kidney

stones. Has anyone heard of this? And should people with gallstones

avoid processed multi-vitamins because of the processing and extra

essentials that we may not need while having a gb condition?

I'm taking Bayer One-a-day multi-vitamin to replace anything that I

may not be getting in my now revised dieting. Actually, I've been

taking then for the last 5 years but now that I've heard this I'm

seeking more insight into this topic.

Any help is appreciated. :-)

Thanks,

Barry.

Thanks Lu,

I have heard more than one person who've had kidney stones being told

by their doctors to stop the processed multi-vitamins. I wasn't sure

about gb stones and vitamins. I only take a one-a-day multi-vitamin

to supplement what I may be missing in my diet. The jury is still out

weither I sound stop them or not.

Barry.

Barry and all.......Dr. Schulze put out a warning against taking

'drugstore' vitamins a long time ago. They are loaded with artificial

garbage, chemicals and are derived from dubious sources. I'll look around

my blessed mess of an office and see if I can find the notice. The only

vitamins fit to be taken are from food sources only, organic, etc. and not

squeezed out of rocks, sewer sludge, petroleum, etc. If you knew how most

of these commercial vitamins were REALLY made, you'd never think of putting

them into your body. I don't doubt that they are capable of producing gall

stones or a bunch of other woes. They are artificial drugs born of the same

lunacy that all side effect producing drugs are derived from. The only

ones who benefit from their consumption are the companies that sell them and

not the consumers. Betsy

Betsy,

Thanks, the jury just came back in with you. :-) I've been thinking I

don't need those processed, 'dubious source' vitamins that are

produced from sewer sludge, etc, anyway. :-) Mine are going in the

trash. I'll just have to make sure my diet is naturally balanced to

include all the essencials. Thanks.

Oh yes, Betsy, you are right, you have jogged my memory. I do recall reading

this in Dr. Schulze's book.

Peace
