When surgery is needed but not sure if safe?

Today Denny leaned over to slip his shoes on. On his way up his neck

cracked and he had instant intense pain. We spent most of the day in

the ER. They gave him fentanyl and zofran IV for pain and nausea.

They did a MRI that showed his C-6 vertebra slipped and is impinging on

his spinal cord. They recommend surgery, yet they said it will be

tough to find a neurosurgeon who will do surgery with the condition of

his neck, spine, and with his MS. Have any of you had to have a fusion

after your onset of MS and if so how did you handle it? Any info would

be appreciated.

Take care,
