Guest guest
As you are not following MSRC's Best Bet Diet, it doesn't matter, but they say that gluten-free wheat is still off-limits for people following their diet. They also eliminate all soy products and pulses (dahls, etc). If you were to follow the BBD, I'd see what dahls could be made using quinoa, corn or buckwheat. I ate quite a lot of Indian food at home but since I've been on the BBD, I find it difficult. Pappadoms are chickpea flour which is fine for wheat-free (check the packages though as some contain wheat too) but out on the BBD. Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: " alrightguy123 " <alrightguy123@... It was my impression that many Indian foods used rice. To avoid gluten I've been eating variations of Dal Bhat, which is lentils and rice. I also get Indian food in those heat sealed foil pouches. Cook a 1/2 cup or so of rice, throw the foil pack into boiling water, put some green-ish vegetable things on the side, it's a meal. For breakfast I get soy yogurt and mix it up w/ wheat free granola. Just today, while buying a 1/2 dozen yogurts, started thinking that wheat free likely does not mean gluten free. > ADVISED TO EXCLUDE GLUTEN AND DAIRY PRODUCTS FROM DIET BY A GROUP MEMBER . > I AM A INDIAN AND WHEAT IS OUR STAPLE DIET . > CAN SOMEBODY SUGGEST ALTERNATIVES PLEASE
