Doris,

I do think that I could put you up in the spare bedroom. :D

Some times daughters can be a 'pain' when we're not used to being around

them 24/7, even though we love them dearly. <smile>

Keep us posted as to whether us in the Midwest will get a chance to meet

you!

Now that we have a new car to drive, at least I'm more assured of getting

there and back, no matter where we meet!

Hey, Doris--if you're on your way to Duluth, too, you can stop here to visit

me! I'm in Eau , Wis., right off I-90, about 3 hours north of

Milwaukee! And, we have an extra room, too! (Wave to !)

....one of my good friends is from Tomah...not too far from you,

right?? she may have relatives there but not sure..will ask her..she's a

frequent traveler all over the place, while I'm basically a homebody, and

just like to go and spend time with people, not do the running around

tourist thing... I get that in books..seen it, been there, done.

Heyy... I'm going to be teaching a workshop in Viroqua in early November. I

understand it's also near Tomah.

Doris, Tomah is very, very close to me (half hour to 45 minutes south, right

off I-90, too). OOOhhh, I can hardly wait! I'm just like you, too,

basically a homebody. But I don't mind traveling alone when I know how to

get where I'm going! Looks like you will definitely have the time of your

life with us in Wisconsin! But, hey, it's not *that* cold in Eau ,

where I live. I'm kidding, yes it is--we had frost last night already!!

That's coming up pretty quick for me..sounds great...I need to get my meds

straight before I can travel...plus I have memories of ICE SKATING behind

my house in Duluth in NOVEMBER. That's scary to me now after 30 years in the

desert!

Yes, Louise! Viroqua is just west of Tomah! When in November? Maybe we

can get together, huh? I'll have to check the map for sure, but I know it's

less than 2 hours from Eau , where I live. Is it a singing workshop?

, can't fool me with the warmer in the south stuff or further from the

lake...I spent the first 36 years of my life between Milwaukee, Wauwatosa

and Duluth with visits to the UP as well................it's cold after

October and still that way in May sometimes. I like the two weeks of summer

that Duluth has...actually, no, I like the Indian summer best of

all...summer is too humid!

Well, Doris....since has made her " bedroom " in the basement, her room

is still open! Just name the day and time and you're welcome with open arms

and soft hugs! We can take a jaunt down to see Louise if ya want. I know

there is another EDS person in ton that Louise knows too.

Bouncing up and down (figuratively) in anticipation to meet another

EDSer.... I've already met B from Eau at a Madison WI EDS a

year ago.

Can't wait to hear what your plans are!

I'm trying NOT to get too excited by the trip...I'm going to have to wait

until I get these meds straightened out. Hard sledding right now, and having

allergic reactions to something in the air here, have taken some benadryl

twice now and getting red all over and itchy........I'm hoping for spring or

fall..

says she lives or will live around the area too...so this should be

good.....yea..haven't had enough excitement in my life lately!!!!!!!! heh,

heh, like Joan and Elsa weren't enough...

It will be a few more months before my meds are reduced/added to a safe

degree and then I'm raring to do something, and this sounds like it would be

a whole lot of fun;;;maybe not tell the daughter and have her come HERE

another time..seems like we could all keep pretty busy...don't think that

will fly, but hey, we can dream, right??

Thought I'd chime in here...... any chance of all of you meeting somewhere

around Chicago? I live three hours south of Chicago, but would be willing to

drive if it weren't too much farther. I'd love to get together with you too.

I can never get to the Michigan/Indiana support group meeting because they

have their meeting on my school board meeting night.

It's a full weekend workshop on Sound Healing for Healers, and the Friday

night of that weekend I'm doing a concert.

I don't know exactly what my travel plans are, when I'm going / leaving,

etc.

I'd love to have you here, too!!!

ANY time! Just call to let me know you're on your way!!!

It'll be the same distance from Eau to Appleton area as it is to

Janesville-only it looks like we'll take

Hwy 29 over that way, instead of interstate.

I get excited thinking about getting together again!

OK, I can't answer for Midwest except I know Chicago is in the Midwest, which

has never made sense to me since it's in the Eastern half of the United

states.

Heartland states are typically Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Mossouri (I

think) and Nebraska. At least those of us IN Oklahoma consider that to be the

'Heartland'. Generally speaking ... Oklahoma is the Heart of the Heartland.

Jill,

This sounds great doesn't it?

Hope it comes about as soon as Doris gets her

'southwestern' behind up in this area, or we'll have it without her.

I'm getting closer to Canada with each move! May make it to a picnic

yet-usually August isn't it?

(There is another branch to the company and it's in Upper Peninsula of

Michigan! Hope we don't get sent to that outpost-lol)

I have always considered Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri to be in the Midwest.

Love Lana

p.s. Also, I consider NEBRASKA (LAND OF THE MIGHTY CORNHUSKERS) to be the

very BIG HEART of the Heartland. <smiling proudly>

I'm from Wisconsin/Minnesota myself and I'm thinking the midwest is

generally ,made up of those two states plus Illinios and Iowa. When looking

at the whole continent, they would probably be in the middle, and when the

country was first settled, were part of the move West. justgessing. Oh,

don't want to leave Michigan out, sorry Joanne, there may be others that I

misssed...
