Sounds like an OCD thing to me, Raena.

And you can mail us a couple of boxes if you'd like! We all like crackers

and we go through them pretty darn fast.

I do it to Raena....I just like crackers, and it seems that everytime I run out,

I get too sick to go to the store to get more. I have 4 boxes of Ritz, 2 Keebler

Club, and 2 Saltines in my pantry/cupboard. Maybe he's just absent-minded??

I slept on this and all I'm coming up with is that maybe they were on sale?

You can also use instead of bread crumbs if you smash them. I have a couple

good receipes for casseroles if you want to try and use them all up LOL

:) G

PS We have a pantry so whenever we see something on sale it goes in there but

since we can't see it we've bought stuff that we really didn't need yet. So

now I have a list of whatever we have in the pantry. It hangs on the frig.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....I'm afraid it'll be a

cold day in a hot place before I catch THAT hint!

Seriously, though, for a variety of reasons, Mark is more likely to

be hinting at homemade soup than more kids to support...

According to our unspoken agreement, I have custody of all the OCD

behaviors...Mark gets to do depression, anger, and " flight "

behaviors...if he gets to be OCD, I get to be mad. I don't like mad.

Maybe I'll take running. Nah; too paranoid to leave the kids. And

depression is SO...well....depressing. Hmmmmmm. He can't have my

OCD.

You wouldn't want these...they're those fat free things. I made soup

last night to use some of them up...maybe tonight will be salmon

loaf. :-)

Good point, . He is awfully absent-minded...one of the running

jokes in our family, in fact. Too bad he doesn't " just like "

chocolate...I could get into hoarding chocolate.

Cheese crackers, graham crackers, animal crackers....those disappear

way fast at our house, too. But not fat-free saltines...those are

forever, because Mark is the only one who will eat them if there are

other options.

Send 'em on...I've got a lot of crackers to crumb.

You know, I used to do that, too...thanks for the reminder.

Penny,

I drive Jeff crazy with something like that. I will not drink milk

that is 2 days before its experation date and will not do leftovers

over 2 days old.

I do that!! I do not eat leftovers unless it is the

very next day and it was put into the fridge

immediately after dinner. Also, bread has to be very

fresh or I will throw it away. Crackers, too. Once

the package is open it has to be eaten. Cereal is the

same. How wierd is that?

Cheese! Tomato! Peanut Butter! Jam! Oops, I mean Jelly, for

the US people... Everything goes on those crackers. You

don't notice they are low fat then! Believe it or not, they

can be an entire lunch of you make a plate of all different

ones. Actually, our favourite on those is Vegemite on the

crackers with the holes, you put one on top of the other and

squeeze to make worms through the holes... but I'm guessing

you don't have Vegemite over there... LOL

You know, Mark is actually the very opposite...drives me nuts hitting

the day old bread/bakery goods looking for " bargains " ---many of which

I end up tossing because they seem stale to ME...

He's the sort of guy who goes to the fridge, pulls something out and

asks how old it is, and if it is less than 4 days...he'll give it a

go. Doesn't want anything to go to waste, you know?

Actually we do, but it is only available in large or slightly odd grocery

stores. However I saw some just the other day in my grocery store and

thought about my friend from my grad school days. He always told me

that Vegemite was the Australian peanut butter.

You'd get along GREAT with my dh.

What *I* don't understand is WHY he leaves the OLD stuff in the

cupboard/refrigerator when he replaces it with NEW stuff. And why save

leftovers if he isn't going to eat them anyway?

You know the date on milk is a sell by date, not an expiration date, and

they do not assume that you will drink a gallon of milk on the day you take

it home. Generally milk is good a week or more after its sell by date.

Milk is, as my mother always said, honest and if it is no good a simple

sniff will tell you.

In stores in England the milk is left out very casually, or it was thirty

years ago when I last visited. It's a cooler country and they experience few

if any problems from this.

salli,

Jeff has told me all of this before so many times I cannot

remember but I still will not drink it anywhere near the date! I am

crazy but I cannot help it. I will not trust my nose to tell me if it

is bad but then I have had food poisoning and will take no chance of

ever reliving that nightmare again and maybe that is why I am so

leary of milk! LOL

Food poisoning is indeed horrible. My sister had salmonella poisoning and

it actually gave her a heart attack. Horrible! I think she was extremely

cautious of eggs afterwards! So I can easily imagine you would worry after

that and it is a small thing really. Oh, well.
