Guest guest
We buy half gallons of milk because it always taste funny and I thorw it out after that date. Milk always taste funny to me though since in NH we use to get it in the glass bottles from the dairy and we don't have one here G

Guest guest
Good luck trying to convince MY husband of that. Penny - who uses the sniff test, too. Re: Re: OT...Someone explain this to me You know the date on milk is a sell by date, not an expiration date, and they do not assume that you will drink a gallon of milk on the day you take it home. Generally milk is good a week or more after its sell by date. Milk is, as my mother always said, honest and if it is no good a simple sniff will tell you. In stores in England the milk is left out very casually, or it was thirty years ago when I last visited. It's a cooler country and they experience few if any problems from this.
