It might have something to do with it's ability to help dissolve/soften stones, but that's just a hunch on my part. So Hawaiian pidgeon is very similar, evidently, to Melanesian Pidgin, which I learned a bit of when I was in Papua New Guinea back in 1998. I just prefer pink, because it's sweeter.
