Hi everyone

I joined the list just over a month ago and I haven't contributed much - just

really observed what everyone is saying.

One thing that really strikes me is that there are so many different types of vv

- caused by (possibly) a great many different things, treated in a number of

differing ways with all sorts of results. It's very hard to get information to

relate to your own personal experiences as every one of us is very different -

different ages, different symptoms etc. etc. I personally think that VV is just

a covering term for many different problems - all of which have similar

symptoms.

My job is writing questionnaires and then using a database of responses to make

observations. I was wondering whether it might be a good idea to write a

questionnaire covering what you believe caused the pain you have, the exact

symptoms you have experienced, the medication you have tried (for how long and

with what dosage)- in chronological order, the results you have had from this

treatment, which doctors you have seen etc.

I really believe that there is so much information here, it's sometimes

difficult to see the wood for the trees. I've received a lot of benefit from

being on the list, especially in terms of emotional support. However, I think

it would be really great to have a database in which I could look for people

with similar symptoms, people who've used medication I'm about to try etc.

Could you let me know whether you would all find this helpful too? I would be

happy to set up and manage the database and questionnaire. I don't see this as

a piece of medical research , more as a guided information area for women on the

list. If I were to set this up, I would also really appreciate some help on

writing the questionnaire, so that I cover all appropriate angles. Please let

me know if you would like me to do this.

Thanks in advance

Fay

PS: I have read a great deal about the oestrogen creams that many of you have

had success with. I was just wondering who has had success - have all of those

that are now better as a result of this cream had children/ a hysterectomy or

other strong hormonal influencing experiences? Please let me know.

Thanks again
