Guest guest
I second that. . you deserve to be proud and you don't know how many you have inspired and how many of us will be trying to do something about this affront to our rights. Sooner or later someone will succeed. Thank you so much for your efforts and I am truly sorry things turned out the way they did. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

You clearly have great love for the Bill of Rights and for human dignity, and though this may sound corny, I hope you can take some comfort from it: " Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. " God bless you, Tommy, and please don't ever feel you wasted your time or didn't do enough. You did a hell of a lot for a non-lawyer with no money, and your actions are something you should always be proud of. ~Rita -----== Sent via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Easy access to 50,000+ discussion forums ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Perkins Complaints (6)( <snipped for brevity> Perhaps my personal case, my boat, has been sunk. Perhaps it was from the beginning of the battle. If so then so be it. If not then " Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. " My position is P.O. Box 1350, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. You Know my e-mail address. But what is much, much more important is the Ship Herself, the U.S.S. Religious Liberty, and She has been taking on water for years. I hope I live to see her once again steaming along high and dry. Tommy--And so do I. I'm not sure it is of any consolation, but I'll bet it won'tbe too long before someone manages to push their case through. Whoever does it will need someone else with experience on their side, though--this is an ACLU case if I've ever heard one; SHAME ON THEM that they didn't jump on it! Tommy, you've made me wish I was a lawyer! <laugh> Ain't that a hell of a deal.It doesn't help you at all with getting your name cleared and your Coast Guardbenefits, though <sigh>. I don't know what you have planned as far as moving on for now, but I wish you the best. Nobody should have to go through this sort of thing; that you fought so valiantly is truly inspiring. Warmest thoughts--.--------------------------------------------------------------------- Click Me!
Guest guest
Rita, Thank you, Rita, for your kindness and understanding. I havn't seen the Lovely Lady in almost 23 years, but I had a very special experience in the bicentenial month of July, 1976. I saw Her every day that month. I was in the Coast Guard's National Search and Rescue School at Governor's Island. She was in full view. I climbed to the top with my family when I was six years old. Seems I read a couple of years ago that Governor's Island was for sale for a billion dollars. What a nice place, quiet and a short ferry ride to some of the best food and entertainment in the world.
